Banzai 05-08-2008, 02:23 PM There's a random beetle loose in my room!
It was on my curtain, but my dad knocked it off. It was like an inch long, and a strange greeny-brown colour. There's some odd wildlife around here.
It's not scary, but not knowing where it is is making me nervous...
tambourineman 05-08-2008, 02:25 PM A random beetle as opposed to a disciplined beetle?
Quaint!
:)
Reminds me of the cicadas I ran across in virginia. Don't squish it on the carpet. I hear the stains are rough:D
Oasis Writer 05-08-2008, 02:28 PM Gross :p
Banzai 05-08-2008, 02:28 PM Lol. I've found it. It's somehow back on the curtain.
I will name it Ringo :D
Rumpole40k 05-08-2008, 02:33 PM Will Ringo get his own forum membership?
tambourineman 05-08-2008, 02:34 PM Don't forget his drums...
Banzai 05-08-2008, 02:35 PM Just thought I'd share :p

tambourineman 05-08-2008, 02:39 PM Are you sure that's a beetle?
Looks like a beetle to me. It's got the shell, the wings, and the right body parts.
Cogito 05-08-2008, 02:41 PM It's adorable :)
Might be hard to fit it with a leash though. It has no neck.
Banzai 05-08-2008, 02:44 PM Well, where there's a will, there's a way.
S&M beetle :p
FoxyMomma 05-08-2008, 02:45 PM We have those here. I call them "Hissin' Bugs" When you touch it, it kinda hisses. Big 'ol honkin' beetle! My oldest son screams like a girl when they are on our screen door.
Banzai 05-08-2008, 02:47 PM I don't mind it, so long as I know where it is. I'll relocate it when I go to bed, though.
ChimmyBear 05-08-2008, 03:04 PM Reminds me of a lizard incident of about two or three weeks ago...yeah...that didn't turn out so great for me!!
BTW~ Wolves...*cough Rumpole*... aren't allowed to give advice concerning catching them...;)
Zelda13 05-08-2008, 03:27 PM Holy. Moly. It really is like a small dog, we don't get anything like that over here. 'Cept actual dogs...and children
And all we get are ticks, deerflies, mosquitos, red ants, and the occasional scorpion. We don't have much in the way of plants so all our bugs eat people. You lucky dog.
Banzai 05-08-2008, 04:11 PM Ringo has gone free...
*sigh*
On purpose or on accident?
Banzai 05-08-2008, 04:24 PM On purpose. I was intending to go to bed, but as usual I have gotten distracted.
mammamaia 05-08-2008, 04:27 PM that's nothing... here, spiders are the size of teacups, cockroaches are 2 inches long and they fly!!!
Banzai 05-08-2008, 04:28 PM That sounds...so cool!
Crazy Ivan 05-08-2008, 04:42 PM Cockroaches are to me what snakes are to Indiana Jones.
Nasty little buggers.
Torana 05-08-2008, 07:18 PM Banzai that thing was scary! O.o
I can't believe you set it loose on the world once more! If that thing comes after me....you'll suffer the concequences!
And maia I think that for once I live where I live, because our spiders around here aren't quite that big, but in someareas they are that big and bigger. A friend has a photo of a spider she was chased by as a little kid. It was MASSIVE, the size of a saucer....not kewl not kewl at all....
Gone Wishing 05-08-2008, 07:45 PM Biggest spider I ever saw was in Licola, Victoria - one of those bird eating spiders, and it was larger than a dinner plate (which is commonly the size those types of spiders are related to).
Also, one time up in Darwin, I was relaxing in a hammock when a whole bunch of flying cockroaches swarmed me. The spider I could handle - the cockroaches I could not!
Torana 05-08-2008, 07:49 PM omg I'm going to have nightmares now lol
I love the lower south west of WA now lol
Torana 05-08-2008, 07:50 PM and YOU ARE JOKING AREN"T YOU?! O.o the spider wasn't that big was it?! <cries> I want my rock now ><
Gone Wishing 05-08-2008, 07:51 PM lol
Now in suburban Adelaide, my biggest problem is giant slugs. (Typical, lol)
Oh - yeah, that spider was freaking huge! Never seen anything like it! :p
Torana 05-08-2008, 07:57 PM <cries> spiders are terrifyinh and I'm a have nightmares about them that big now lol
and slugs ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Eoz Eanj 05-08-2008, 11:13 PM S&M beetle
roflcopter/ I think the beetles been through enough aye.
And yeah I too am glad I live in the south of W.A now
Up north .. well, I remember tearing bark off a gum tree once, as you do, and underneathe a particularly large shealth was a Huntsman spider and it really was the size of a dinner plate.. which I'd previously assumed as gobblegook.
I am a believer now.
...I'd...I'd cry if I saw something like that near me XD Omg. And without my dad, I'd not be sleeping for several days until I knew it died of old age...or something. *coughs*
Tux!~ *tosses her cat at the thing* He'd have some fun with something like that. Probably be eaten.
Serendipity666 05-09-2008, 08:15 AM Big flying roaches i can handle, gigantic spiders i am used too
but giant slugs? nnnnnnnooooooooooooooo spankyou!
Heather Louise 05-09-2008, 08:57 AM There's a random beetle loose in my room!

It's not scary, but not knowing where it is is making me nervous... Lmao,, bless ya. Not just me who freaks when an insect is in their room then.
I hate spiders. :(
Gone Wishing 05-09-2008, 09:17 AM but giant slugs? nnnnnnnooooooooooooooo spankyou!
They like to crawl up out of the drain in the bathroom, and also they apparently like potatoes. >_<
Banzai... did I ever mention that you're just WEIRD...
Banzai 05-09-2008, 02:48 PM It may have come up, yes :p
Serendipity666 05-09-2008, 05:15 PM they apparently like potatoes. >_<
 my god there are mutant slugs taking over the world, kinda like cane toads............
were all doomed
Banzai 05-12-2008, 03:43 PM THE BEETLES ARE BACK!
They're attacking my room, having launched a kamikaze attack earlier, and are now launching assault waves on my window!
All hands to the guns?
Leaka 05-12-2008, 03:55 PM I have a strange bug in my room.
It is long brownish red with pinsirs at the end of its butt.
It looks kinda like an ant mixed with a beetle or something.
My dad tried to smash it and it didn't get crushed. Instead it just fell down behind my dresser.
I am not scared just a bit nervous since it has pinsirs nears its butt.
I am not even going to remove my dresser to get at it. Cause I don't do so well with hard bugs that can't get smashed.
A few moths ago we had carpet beetles.
They were cool cause once you smashed them they turned to dust. Like the movies.
