There's a random beetle loose in my room!

It was on my curtain, but my dad knocked it off. It was like an inch long, and a strange greeny-brown colour. There's some odd wildlife around here.

It's not scary, but not knowing where it is is making me nervous...

A random beetle as opposed to a disciplined beetle?
Quaint!

Reminds me of the cicadas I ran across in virginia. Don't squish it on the carpet. I hear the stains are rough:D

Looks like a beetle to me. It's got the shell, the wings, and the right body parts.

It's adorable :)

Might be hard to fit it with a leash though. It has no neck.

We have those here. I call them "Hissin' Bugs" When you touch it, it kinda hisses. Big 'ol honkin' beetle! My oldest son screams like a girl when they are on our screen door.

I don't mind it, so long as I know where it is. I'll relocate it when I go to bed, though.

Holy. Moly. It really is like a small dog, we don't get anything like that over here. 'Cept actual dogs...and children

And all we get are ticks, deerflies, mosquitos, red ants, and the occasional scorpion. We don't have much in the way of plants so all our bugs eat people. You lucky dog.

Nasty little buggers.

Banzai that thing was scary! O.o

I can't believe you set it loose on the world once more! If that thing comes after me....you'll suffer the concequences!

And maia I think that for once I live where I live, because our spiders around here aren't quite that big, but in someareas they are that big and bigger. A friend has a photo of a spider she was chased by as a little kid. It was MASSIVE, the size of a saucer....not kewl not kewl at all....

Biggest spider I ever saw was in Licola, Victoria - one of those bird eating spiders, and it was larger than a dinner plate (which is commonly the size those types of spiders are related to).

Also, one time up in Darwin, I was relaxing in a hammock when a whole bunch of flying cockroaches swarmed me. The spider I could handle - the cockroaches I could not!

S&M beetle
roflcopter/ I think the beetles been through enough aye.

And yeah I too am glad I live in the south of W.A now

Up north .. well, I remember tearing bark off a gum tree once, as you do, and underneathe a particularly large shealth was a Huntsman spider and it really was the size of a dinner plate.. which I'd previously assumed as gobblegook.

I am a believer now.

Tux!~ *tosses her cat at the thing* He'd have some fun with something like that. Probably be eaten.

THE BEETLES ARE BACK!

They're attacking my room, having launched a kamikaze attack earlier, and are now launching assault waves on my window!

All hands to the guns?

I have a strange bug in my room.
It is long brownish red with pinsirs at the end of its butt.
It looks kinda like an ant mixed with a beetle or something.
My dad tried to smash it and it didn't get crushed. Instead it just fell down behind my dresser.
I am not scared just a bit nervous since it has pinsirs nears its butt.
I am not even going to remove my dresser to get at it. Cause I don't do so well with hard bugs that can't get smashed.
A few moths ago we had carpet beetles.
They were cool cause once you smashed them they turned to dust. Like the movies.
