Some of you may have met me before as 'Writing Guy', which was my fictional account. Why was I fictional? Because my partner is a member on here and I didn't want to embarrass her, to be honest. But we talked, and you all seem to be a great bunch o'writers, so it's time to drop the facade.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). I'm a veteran from East of the Web and then Critters Bar and didn't manage to offend anyone. Think I'm in safe hands over here.

As for reviewing, I'll do what I can, but I'm up to my eyes in edits for various projects and I hate it! Hehe. Cuts into writing time. But if anyone is really stuck, I'm sure I can help out. Besides, with everyman and his dog PMing me through myspave for help and stuff, might as well do it with new friends, right?

Oh, and thanks for deleting Writing Guy. He was beginning to bug me. The more I thought about him, the more he became a whiney EMO teenager!

Not a problem. And Writing Guy wasn't really around enough to get to know him, so I don't have the impression of him that you do.
