I am an experienced writer and I have done everything from Copywriting to Press Releases to keyword articles. I am trying to strike out on my own rather than being the middle man. Does anyone have any good ideas where I would go to advertise myself and my business? I have a ton of experience writing real estate articles and also doing market reports. If anyone has any ideas can you shoot me an email or PM or even a post, lol. Thanks so much. :)

Hey Christie,
Nice to meet you. Sounds like your foot is in the door but you need marketing. I see you have a dot com site. What about the best free promo sites on the web? Myspace for example.
I managed a Cali band from up here in Canada, took advantage of free promo and acquired almost 22,000 friends in 6 months.( many 20 hr days) They got on Warped Tour and now have a huge following. Some of these sites are extraordinary in spreading the word-your talents.
You CAN get yourself out there. Much luck!

Don't hesitate to msg me if you need ideas.

Hello Christie, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

There are many ways to advertise yourself, but your best bet is to to consult a marketing site. We don't allow member advertising here, however - we draw a broad line in order to prevent spamming.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ (http://www.writingforums.org/faq.php) as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?p=101625#post101625), too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate.

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? (http://www.writingforums.org/showpost.php?p=65432&postcount=1) for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
