Hey Excellent thread....I believe that a song often reflects the writer's spirit at the time it was written. I think this is why a song can either deepen the listeners emotions or change them. For example: If I am down, I put on something happy, if I am happy, a depressing song can dampen my spirits.

I have too many to list, so I'll list a few of them, along with their lyrics (or my favorite part of their lyrics).

The first one is What If I Stumble by dc Talk. It's about how we'll all stumble away from God at some time in our lives, but we should pick ourselves up again and keep following Him.

This is the first part of the lyrics:

There's this one by Jars of Clay called Oh My God. The lead singer says it's about how everybody intersects with God at some point. It's a song about an outcry. I love the way it builds at the end. You can really feel all the emotion.
