Kudos to the forum!

I’m in love with the fact that the latest rash of rude entries into our peaceful, academic community has been met with a resounding crash of silence by all.

I’ve been to forums where trolls are fed on a regular basis. And when you feed trolls all you get is troll poop all over the place.

Un-fun to wade through. :(

I'm glad that our efforts are appreciated. It's a tough balance at times.

Some people think that being a mod is fun. All that power!

It's not. We have to make tough choices all the time, whether to give the benefit of the doubt, or to shut something down before it becomes a crisis. As you can guess, most of the time when someone's signature links are removed, or their thread is closed, they aren't happy. Good thing my Inbox is fireproofed!

But the goal is to keep the forum as friendly as possible to as many as possible. And I for one am always glad to hear when we succeed in that to whatever degree.

Well, we do appreciate the job done. Goodness knows that there are umpti-billion forums where flaming and trolling are the accepted modus operandi. Let them go elsewhere.

Aww the old troll problem, always happens to forums. But then again trolls are only good where their third grade intellectual prowess is fed by other less mature mates. And since this community lacks the weak of mind, i might say that trolls are PoWnEd.
