Well, I'm leaving on Saturday for a much need break. I'm going on tour with my choir in Italy. We're going to Milan, Venice, and Florence. I'm ecstatic, and I can't wait to get out of here. Anyway, I'll miss you all while I'm gone, even though I know I've been absent lately. It's been tough, but I hope this helps some. I'll be back on the 18th or 19th of June. See you then. ^^

Whoofta! Just got back from a seven-day sailing trip in the Florida Keys with a bunch of Boy Scouts and a (totally awesome) crazy Italian captain. Now I need to start the catching-up process...

I'll be going on a backpacking trip in a few hours. I'll be gone all weekend climbing Mt. Humphries, the tallest mountain in Arizona. If I don't die of altitude sickness (any time I hike above 12,000 feet I get it reallllll bad) I'll see you all again on Sunday.

I'm disappearing until August 14th or so to work at a summer camp in Colorado (google SuperCamp if you really want to know :P ). i was hoping i'd only be gone a few days, but my daughter has fallen quite ill and our hospital stay isn't over yet. So i will not be around for roughly a week. Hey all! I know not many people really know me here yet, but I appreciate the warm welcome thus far. :0) I'm flying out to san fran tomorrow and won't be back until Monday night. We're flying there for a wedding, but in the last 4 years, the only overnight alone time my husband and i have had without kids was once for 24 hours, so 4 nights 5 days feels like a long over due piece of heaven. :0)

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE my kids. LOVE them. Everyone needs a break though. We're a homeschooling family with 5 children and I own and run my own business (or 3) and as you can imagine, I'm a very busy girl. :0) I'm more excited to have a break away from my business. These days my laptop feels like an extra appendage.

Anyway, those who will most notice my absence will be those I'm in rpg's with. Can't wait to write again when I get back. Have a lovely rest of the week and weekend.

Well, I'm sure you know of Micheal who fell and broke his collar bone playing hacky sack. He was supposed to go on a trek to Philmont with us, but crap happens. I also know the B's who work down at handicraft and maybe somewhere else. I was just at Emerald Bay with Dan B. who left Raymond to go there. And I don't know if Nick with the beard is running the nature lodge with Bradley or not anymore.

So I'm going to Seattle (and almost certainly Portland and Vancouver) at the end of the week - probably 3 nights in each. Are there are must sees in these places? I'm going to be going to the Capitol Hill festival on Saturday in Seattle - other than that I'm flexible. I don't imagine we'll be leaving the cities though on such a timeframe - so I'm thinking of some recommendations in terms of good quality, central, non-chain, bars of the rock, indie, alternative, quriky type? Or other such coolness.

The Museum of Flight in Seattle is cool if you like airplanes. I also liked the Sci-Fi museum there, so I'd recommend it if you like that kind of stuff. Um, you should also check out the shops on the piers. Especially Ye Old Curiosity shop, because they have crazy stuff like mummies, shrunken heads, pickled 8-legged pigs, etc. :D

OMG was that the best holiday ever. Rome and Pompeii etc were absolutly fascinating. The heat was a little too overbearing, 38C the highest. A tad too much for us brits who usually lucky to get half that!!

I'm currently in New York City having fun with my cousins! My last attempt at making this summer fun before moving back on campus on Tuesday (ugh!) So, will be back either Tuesday night on this forum or Wednesday. . .

I'm back from a 2-week vacation on cancun. I went to see the pyramids and they were cool.

Back from San Diego :eek: Blogged about it :p but those are the depressing parts.

I'll try and get some pictures up as soon as my sister uploads them so I can steal em' from her and upload them myself xD It was definitely fun, without certain members (of the family! xDD that sounded bad... had to edit.) and the weather was amazing :)

Doesn't San Diego have a massive zoo and amazing beaches, but a diminishing water supply?

Not sure about the diminishing water supply :p But, yes. The beaches are awesome. Specially when the water is nice and warm from the sun. Since, they normally have rather cold waters.

The Zoo is /magnificent/ but we didn't go this time, but I've all ready been there before. So I wasn't too disappointed.

In fact, I decided it would be a cool idea to go back to being lethargic in whatever free time I had. But I met a lot of wonderful people here, and it's a fantastic community that seems to grow by 5 each day, and I really do like to write.

What I've learned, I think, is that there's nothing I love more than the internet&writing.

Well, I'm back from several days' vacation "down east" in Maine, at Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

I have a few hundred photos to sort through (nope, that's not exaggeration!), and also some very stiff muscles to stretch out from hiking mountain trails.

The weather was a perfect mix - mist, fog, and rain the first day, which presented a lot of interesting photo opportunities; bright sun and strong wind gusts from Ike the next day, so the surf was very active; and warmer and sunny the next couple days. The warmest day, I went on a whale watch cruise, but although I did see some finback whales, they weren't very close to the ship, so I'm not overly optimistic about those pictures.

And, of course, I pigged out on lobster.

I know I haven't been online much lately and I just wanted to say that is probably going to continue from now on for a while. I have some English GCSE's soon (which btw I got an A* on in my mocks :p) and afterschool classes every night and coursework and yea, just really busy.

Not sure about the diminishing water supply :p But, yes. The beaches are awesome. Specially when the water is nice and warm from the sun. Since, they normally have rather cold waters.

The Zoo is /magnificent/ but we didn't go this time, but I've all ready been there before. So I wasn't too disappointed.

That damn SD zoo is a stinkin workout! Some of those hills are so steep you need a rope tow to pull you up! But, you are right about the diversity, presentation and quality of that zoo . . . best in the world!
