Hey so for the Writing Contests that are held onsite, is it okay to post them to be reviewed and critiqued first? or do you just post them as is in the contest thread. i was thinking about it and i thought that some may view it as cheating if you got others to help refine and edit your work in a contest.

You should hold up on posting it for review until after the contest you entered it in has concluded, including the voting phase.
