Just thought I would let the good folks in The Lounge know that I just interpreted a call for a rampant drunken dialer.

When the call was over, the rep with whom I was working told me this individual calls at least once a week, up to their eyeballs in Southern Comfort. Her words exactly! :D

I really don't care for Southern Comfort, let's just say I had a bad night.

Does it distinguish between the Tequila and the Chardonnay dialects?

I don't speak drunk. I do speak Cameronese and Cadenese. As a mother, you are very adapt to figure out exactly what your child (who doesn't speak well yet) is saying. Everyone looks to you for interpretation.

You have to know when to lean forward and stab with your finger, and exactly how many times "No wait, listen" means "This is important" and how many means "I'm about to barf on your shoes." Then there are the fine points of "Yuralright, man. I mean it."

It's a very difficult set of dialects, and even harder to remember if you are dedicated to your studies.

lol! Drunken ramblers crack me up... oh wait... I was one lastnight lol!

But seriously, I have to try and decipher drunk speak all the time. It hurts my head trying too as well.

I learnt that when someone says "eurgh! Ierma don....." *thud* it means they don't feel so good and are going to pass out where they are standing lol! I love that one!

My grandparents once gave me and my brother a Very Serious Lecture on why we should avoid Southern Comfort. And it wasn't so much about the obvious things (driving, being drunk, etc.) as just that they didn't like the flavor. It was very humorous (for us).

Friend Code #132: Don't let friends drink and dial.

common problem with my friends, they all call people they are not supposed to call when they're drunk, like wives, ex girlfriends and parents. its funny most of the time:D

Oh man... Once, a neighbour of mine was practically legless - she made me stand there for moral support while she called her ex at about three in the morning so that she could ask him how he made his bacon sandwiches.

Fun. :/ (Guess I forgot Friend Code #132... :p)

Sounds like story material...
