View Full Version : Oh....wow...
emily... 08-05-2008, 08:13 PM So, I was writing today, and I finish up this paragraph, and I read over it and think "Well, maybe I should just start a new chapter here." Then I reread it a few times, and came to a stunning realization:
I was finished.
Of course, I still have all my revisions to do, but the initial draft is done.
I'm in shock.
lessa 08-05-2008, 08:43 PM nice type of shock though, isn't it.
so happy for you.
good luck with it.
Dang, can you transfer some of that over to me?
emily... 08-05-2008, 08:54 PM haha, well I've been telling people for weeks that the ending is just going to smack me in the face....and it did.
thirdwind 08-05-2008, 09:40 PM Good job and good luck on editing. How long did it take you to get this far?
emily... 08-05-2008, 09:54 PM I started last october. So, ten months. It took ten months to cover ninth months, go figure.
Torana 08-05-2008, 10:20 PM Well done emily. Just think, once you finish editing, you can start another :p hehehehe!
thirdwind 08-05-2008, 10:30 PM I started last october. So, ten months. It took ten months to cover ninth months, go figure.
O wow. I'm jealous. Are you planning on publishing?
emily... 08-05-2008, 10:40 PM Ha, Tor, I've got the next plot planned out already. :)
And thirdwind, I'm not really sure. Maybe, but, not right now.
Torana 08-05-2008, 10:42 PM That is great to hear emily. I'm hoping to get back into writing stories again soon... I've got a piece I've been working on for a while now. But my poetry has taken up most of my time, and studies, and my reading.
emily... 08-05-2008, 10:46 PM Yeah, I had summer vacation, and wrote nearly 100 pages, (which makes my summer speed three times as fast as my school year speed) but now that school is starting up, I won't have near as much time. So my studies will probably be taking up a great deal of time also.
On the plus side, registration day is friday and there is an 87% chance my homeroom teacher (also my english teacher who inspired me to start writing) will let my write/revise in her classroom while she reads the school handbook.
Torana 08-05-2008, 10:51 PM I'll keep my fingers crossed for you then emily. Time is valuable when it comes to writing, that is for sure.
emily... 08-05-2008, 10:58 PM Yeah, even though I'm one who would gladly give up sleep for her writing. Which has absolutely nothing to do with me nearly failing math. :D The biggest thing is that I told my parents. Which was something I thought I would never do.
Torana 08-05-2008, 11:02 PM I don't give up sleep for writing. Cause if I did that, I'd never be able to sleep. I don't sleep enough as it is... :p
emily... 08-05-2008, 11:13 PM Haha, I'm a teenager. We'll give up sleep for anything.
Torana 08-05-2008, 11:16 PM I lose enough sleep because of my family and my children. If I lost anymore sleep, I'd never sleep. I got less than 2 hours lastnight because of my daughter who does not believe in sleep. <she takes after me>
emily... 08-05-2008, 11:17 PM haha, aw. how old is she?
Torana 08-05-2008, 11:22 PM She is 3 in September and has ongoing health issues. She is so precious and definitely a little miracle.
<hahaha! I threadjacked again lol! oops! :D>
emily... 08-05-2008, 11:27 PM It's my thread. hahaha. I've read your blogs about her, she seems sweet. :)
Torana 08-05-2008, 11:29 PM Oh she is sweet. <When she isn't being evil and egging the place> She is a very artistic little girl that is for sure... ^_^
Anyways, I had better head off. Got a few things to do and I'm not getting them done. Have fun emily. :)
starrynight89 08-06-2008, 12:43 AM I feel like an intruder! :P
emily--Good job! I'm so jealous! What's it about??
Torana-->Aww, I want to see your baby! What's her name?
emily... 08-06-2008, 11:08 AM Um...well...in a nutshell it's about a pregnant teen. But I like to think there's more to it than that.
And Tor's daughter's name is Ami. :)
