Lol, everyone in my family has nothing better to do but watch it right now...everyone except me that is.

Watched some of it...today's my dad's birthday so didn't get a chance to see the whole thing.

My family recorded the animal planet's "puppy games" instead of the olympics.

The Opening Ceremony was nearly 16 hours ago.

I've been watching the first day's events. Basketball was good. Equestrian ... well, I don't know why they even air that to be honest.

The opening ceremony was aired last night starting at 8 Eastern time so the US could watch it during prime time. They are delaying most of the broadcasts here so we get to see it WAY after it actually happened.

I was at a free Flogging Molly concert last night and thus missed it...
...can't say I got a bad deal, though. ;)

Hmmmm... Flogging Molly, or Olympics on a TV with crappy reception... I know which I'd prefer :p

I haven't seen the sydney 2000 opening ceremony so I can't say anything about that but synchronizing over 1500 drummers with fierce precision can hardly be called a rush job. The footsteps were also breathtaking. . . and scroll, it was amazing. Also, China's famous director Zhang Yimou has been working on the Opening Ceremony for more than three years. I think the ceremony made a profound statement on China's place in the world. Thirty years ago, no one would've even imagined this possible.

Got to say... i've not watched any of the olympics so far. Am I the only person who just isn't all that interested?
