Going to spread the old birthday out a bit. Got a fireworks display this eve (apparently, as it's a local one, my friends sponsored a firework so there's one specially for me! woohoo) and tomorrow. Then waiting for the weekend to hit the tiles (weather permitting). Lots of sparklers and hot dogs - I'll be very happy and well fed young/old lady!!

Yeah they should be, but because I live in Sussex, most firework displays are arrange so as not to clash with the almighty Lewes fireworks. Some are organised as far forward as the 6th Sept!! I went to some on the 19th Oct which were awesome, but I always wait til the old b'day to throw open the bonfire night gates!!

We were planning to, but then there's always the threat of being hit in the face by something either on fire or about to explode. We'll see how things go, there are lots of local ones and I usually make Brockham my bonfire celebration of choice.

They banned fireworks?!?!?!!? :eek: You're kidding... how can they ban fireworks? I mean, they don't have to celebrate bonfire night if there's a cultural clash but banning fireworks all together? That seems crazy. What about parties and weddings and new years?!?!

Actually thinking about it, you're quite right, bonfires in Aus might be a huge danger. It completely skipped my mind that there are so many brush fires and all that - clearly I've had too much to drink at this little shindig already! Just think it's not even noon! Hehe! Two cakes!! And this one reveals my age! Brilliant, it's beautiful cake and I hereby make it many different flavours with the first one being carrot cake with a mascapone frosting, the second layer can be a chocolate fudge with rum icing, the third a cheeky little blueberry marble sponge and the fourth can be a classic victoria. Yummy!! Thanks Nilfiry!! It's amazing.
