Daniel 06-19-2006, 07:29 PM Well, I wish I could reply with some excellent novel I've created, but unfortunately, that's not the case quite yet.
I have had some fictional work (poetry) published in 2 or 3 online magazines and done some freelance content writing on the web, but that's about it.
webdev 06-22-2006, 11:22 PM I actually posted a computer help article on articlecity.com I believe. A few days later an editor from a magazine contacted me about using the free article in the publication. It wasn't much, but it was pretty nice to see something I wrote being mass printed.
Sedalia 09-06-2006, 03:54 PM Pleasure's Daughter an Erotic novel published by Virgin Publishing
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/0352332379
Peter 09-09-2006, 03:51 PM To date, I've only had one short story published on an ezine. I've got another two being published this month. But no novel. And I haven't even attempted a novel yet, as I don't want to waste my time. I'm sticking to short stories for the time being, learn my craft that way. I might attempt a novel once I'm at a respectable standard in my writing.
Verto 09-12-2006, 01:15 PM Wise words Peter, short stories are the only thing for me at the moment.
Daniel 09-13-2006, 09:12 PM And I haven't even attempted a novel yet, as I don't want to waste my time.
As said, wise words. This bit stood out to me. Basically, you're right. Writing is an investment, and you don't get the return unless you invest wisely. It's difficult.
Sapphire 09-19-2006, 06:19 PM I'm not published yet but I am in the process of writing a fantasy novel right now and hoping to get published, but that's as close as I have gotten so far.
JimmyLane 09-19-2006, 07:33 PM Hey all! You can check out one of my recent short fictions (An Autumn Night) coming out in the September Issue #5 of MotherVerse, print and online. You can also see an excerpt at www.motherverse.com
Esaul 09-20-2006, 08:59 PM My teacher is working with me to get myself published once I finish my "novel"
JimmyLane 09-21-2006, 04:08 AM So what's your novel about? Fill us in. :)
Esaul 09-21-2006, 04:36 AM Which one are you talking about? I have a couple in the making at the same time. I have a romance, and a few fantasy stories. The one I have the most progression on is Blade the Dragon Warrior (I want to change the name but my editor ((my best friend)) doesn't want me to.). It's about a young man named Seth who lives in a small town called Mrae Fortifur in the land of Quar. He learns that varders are after him, sent by the Dark Lord, and he must flee for his life. Upon the dying request of his friend he goes to Mrae Ludar where the Council of Dragons is and his tale starts there. ((that's the stuff that I'm keeping the same from my original version)) Blade is the name of a legendary hero who fought in a war long ago, and it is the name the warrior got from his dragon when she died from battle (but her name was in an ancient language that was long forgotten).
That good enough? :p

Enjoy!
Daniel 10-15-2006, 03:41 PM Cool. I've never been a fan of self-publishing, but if it works for you, great.
SwanZa 10-16-2006, 07:34 AM Congrats Sedalia, your work looks very interesting! Have many copies been sold?
And Congrats Peter, JimmyLane and Jackal! Jackal I've heard Lulu is pretty good, have you had many sales?
Any of you make enough to be able to live off of your writing?
I had a short story that was going to be published in an Ezine which never got going. Other than that, nothing.... nothing submitted, nothing published!
susie 10-20-2006, 10:22 AM Hi, all,
I have three unrhymed poetry e-books and chapbooks and two rhymed poetry e-books and chapbooks up at
http://thereadersretreat.com/Suzan_Wiener_free_poetry.html Their titles are: "The Essence of Love," Vol. I, II, III and "Poetry for Everyone" Vol. I and II.
It's a great bookstore website to advertise your books and free to advertise your books too! Hope you'll have a chance to stop by.
Max Vantage 10-30-2006, 01:26 PM I'm what you can call "semi-published" with a poem I wrote off the cuff a few months ago. I don't yet know of any writing skill I may have so I have thrown it out to see what the experience will teach me.
I'll know some more about it comes January 2007.

Max Vantage 10-30-2006, 01:49 PM Um, why has my post been entered three times when I only posted it once? Duh!
Sedalia 10-31-2006, 08:25 AM My book has sold to date 20,000 copies world wide, but due to the market it is in, I only made enough to buy this computer :)
franceslynn 11-05-2006, 04:40 PM My two recently published books, "Frantic" and "Crushed" are on all the Amazons, Barnes & Noble blah! Soon to be in retail stores in the UK too. Curt Eiworth of Eiworth Publishing at http://www.bookstore.eiworth.se is a Swedish publisher, but now has an international site - he would also welcome good novelists - so bombarde him with your stuff!
Frances Lynn is a professional writer and journalist. Her two novels, "Frantic" and "Crushed" are published by Eiworth Publishing at http://yourbookstore.eiworth.se/. Her musings about writing can be read at http://www.writerholic.blogspot.com/ Her personal website is http://franceslynn.org
franceslynn 11-05-2006, 04:43 PM Sorry - this is the correct link for Eiworth Publishing:
http://yourbookstore.eiworth.se/
that should work.

Sedalia, I think 20,000 books is impressive. What kind of book is it?

franceslynn 11-08-2006, 03:30 PM Lpspider, why aren't you a fan of self-publishing? it is because you've got to do everything yourself? My publisher put my books on Lulu as a stop-gap printer before deciding to go with Diggory Press Publishers. They seem really good, but if you live in Europe - their global distribution deal doesn't seem a good idea - as your books escalate in price on European sites.

franceslynn 11-08-2006, 03:33 PM jackal,

_booklovr_ 11-24-2006, 11:21 AM Wow, you guys all have such impressive accomplishments to your names! All I have is a promised publication in the magazine "New Moon," and they haven't even told me what issue they may be publishing it in yet!
I feel like such a rookie...
mmorsepfd 07-18-2008, 07:03 PM My book, Rescuing Providence was published in October, 2007 by Paladin Press. You can get it Barnes and Nobel.com, Amazon.com, www.rescuing-providence.blogspot.com (signed copies available, big whoop) and a bunch of other places.
RIPPA MATE 07-20-2008, 12:00 AM I'm currently in the process of rewriting my novel. Published wise, i have a column in my local paper which i write every so often, if you wish to read the articles go here - http://randomuniversalmatters.blog.com/
skip slocum 07-20-2008, 12:34 AM I wrote this for the adventure and somewhere along the way it took on a life of its own.
Now I'm hooked on telling stories.

hellomoto 07-20-2008, 06:32 AM This year, in year seven, a script I wrote called "Boots an' All" was published in a Magazine called "The Phoenix"
words*from*the*heart 08-11-2008, 11:56 AM I've had a poem "Spring Comes" published in "A poetry oddessy"
skip slocum 08-11-2008, 07:47 PM good for you it's always nice to see your work in print.
ParanormalWriter 08-11-2008, 09:41 PM My latest work is an article in an upcoming issue of Allegory (formerly Peridot books). I'd post a link, but the issue featuring my work won't be out until next month. I'm fairly pleased about it, because its an interview with my favorite fantasy author, Robin Hobb. It's always cool to have an excuse to interview authors you admire.
My sci-fi book, The Last Human War, went on the internet this week. Hopefully, it will be in Amazon.com, Yahoo-books and in traditional books stores by the end of this month.

Feel free to look over the website and offer any constructive ideas that come to mind.
BTW - it's already passed 100 in sales but those were mostly friends and fans from my fishing magazine article-writing days.
Anthony James Barnett 08-23-2008, 09:47 AM I've been published in magazines, and had my work broadcast on radio since 1994. My novel Without Reproach, is available on every internet site I can think of all over the world, but I suppose Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/WITHOUT-REPROACH-Anthony-James-Barnett/dp/1905988257) is the biggest.

Afterburner 08-26-2008, 09:48 PM I don't have anything published yet. I did submit a few short poems to a magazine called Rattle about a month ago though. I'm supposed to here back from them sometime between 4-8 weeks, so it's about anytime now.
Angel OD 08-27-2008, 02:27 PM Hey I published my 1st novel entitled Virgin Of The APocalypse on this website
www.lulu.com/
The writng style of my book is abit more different than a standard Religious/Horror book, I call my style of writting Snuff Literature, Snuff Literature is kind of like an extreme version of Horror. Its more brutal and the subject matter is more challenging to the human psych. Anyway Snuff Literature is for young adults only, my book virgin of the apocalypse, is highly unique. A parental Warning isnt on the book cover, :( but its a pretty unique read! I promise you that when you finish the virgin of the apocalypse, you`ll never forget it! :D
heres the link to my book, Available in English,Russian and German

Adelaide 08-28-2008, 05:59 PM It's very inspiring to see these accomplishments. It gives me some hope! :)
Little Miss Edi 08-29-2008, 02:47 AM I luckily secured myself a great deal with a publisher and write regularly for 3 of their magazines. Two/three features for each one. Specialising in sailing - Being honest here, I don't sail; just proves where research can get you (and picking the brains of people that do)! To the books people!! to the books! :)
Well done to everyone for their published achievements, and goodluck to everyone whose on this wonky walkway of unpublished genius with us!
mammamaia 08-29-2008, 04:39 PM ps to my post:
