So yeah, what the hell is the difference between the two; Save and Safe?

Save means take someone/thing from danger.
Safe means someone/thing is out of danger.
For a quick and dirty explanation of one aspect of the meanings. Sure someone else can go more in-depth.
There are more definitions of course...

Save - verb (So, did you save the day?)
Safe - adjective or noun (I keep my things safe in a safe.)
