View Full Version : Looking for volunteers
Daniel 06-19-2006, 08:12 PM Okay, I'm looking for a few devoted people who are willing to help with the site.
Firstly, I need someone to take charge of the ezine. I'd set them up with an email address for submissions and they'd basically be in charge of picking the best submissions and putting it together and editing it.
Also, I need a few people to help moderate the forum.
If you're interested, shoot me a PM.
How often is the ezine and how many submissions in it? Also what else would go in it?
Daniel 06-20-2006, 01:25 PM Basically the ezine would be published monthly. Chances are we won't get one up until the end of July - that will probably be the first issue, but likely we'll release one like every 20th of the month (or to that effect).
I have no idea how many submission we'll get, depends on the activity.
The content of the ezine would:
- 1-2 short stories. That's debateable.
- 1 (maybe 2) poems.
- An author interview. (I'm still not sure if the interview would be included with the ezine or separate altogether - probably both).
- Announcements/Contests updates.
That's basically it.

See this thread (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?p=243#post243).
Verto 09-04-2006, 07:34 AM I would be glad to help out as a moderator if you think that I am suitable for the job.
Leader_of_the_Pack 05-17-2008, 12:05 PM Let me know if you still need any volunteers. I have a lot of free time on my hands and might as well use it well. Anyway, just let me know if you need an extra helper. Thank you.
kayeshannon 06-17-2008, 09:06 PM I would love to help with the ezine since no reviewers are needed at present.
Do you still need help?
Aurora_Black 06-18-2008, 08:29 PM Yeps, i'm up for helping too :D Ezine sounds interesting to do
InPieces 06-19-2008, 08:33 AM I'd love to help with the ezine :)
It sounds fun. Even if the editor position is already taken (as three others have expressed interest before me), I will definately send stuff to it, and would be excited to take part in it in anyway I could.
What about a team of editors? Or an editor and a bunch of other writers / reviewers to get the stories together and go through submissions and stuff? It seems like a lot of work for just one editor to do
Bluemouth 06-19-2008, 09:19 AM There are currently a small number of members already working on the Ezine. They are: Daniel, Cogito, Raven, Kit and myself.
We have gathered articles and selected short stories/poetry for the issue but it is yet to be compiled into a proper format. It's therefore possible that if anyone has good experience in compiling newsletters and access to an appropriate program (something Adobe would be ideal), then we'd welcome you to send a PM to any, or all, of us and go from there.
Cogito 06-19-2008, 09:40 AM Actually, I'm not. I have made suggestions and minor contributions, but I knew I wouldn't have time to commit to it, so I didn't.
Bluemouth 06-19-2008, 10:34 AM I know, I know. But I thought if I left you out you might have been offended.
Cogito 06-19-2008, 10:57 AM Not at all. I just don't want to be seen as a "go to" person for eZine requests and issues! :)
InPieces 06-19-2008, 01:40 PM So, you're not looking for any more editors then? Just technical staff?
EDIT:: I also do have a newsletter program, but it's not by abode. I'll PM you about it.
assassins creed 07-05-2008, 07:23 AM I would be interested in volunteering as i have a lot of free time on my hands at the moment... let me no if you need my willing hands
Heather Louise 07-05-2008, 07:48 AM I don't have any of the stuff nessesary on the computer, but I would be willing to offer help with this, if anything is needed. :)
Cyberpunk 07-05-2008, 10:39 AM I'll help in any way I can.
