1. 22
2. Science fiction.
3. I can see myself becoming famous, but hey, I can see myself playing in the NHL or being a professional snowboarder. That doesn't mean its ever going to happen. I think realistically I can become "famous" within a small part of the publishing world, maybe locally. I think if I was to get serious about becoming famous it will take around five years... but I don't really know. My goal right now is to publish one book. Who knows where I'll go from there?

Fantasy, first one is a contemporary, the one I'm working on now would be sword and sorcery.
I hope so but I havn't got a clue how long it will take. I've got my first manuscript with an editor now and I should be hearing soon. (I hope)
Wish I'd discoverd i liked writing earlier in life, Mike

Horror.
It is up the top of my list of things to happen, so I try to work hard to achieve the goal. At the moment that means finishing off my current novel and finding an agent.

2. Science fiction, fantasy, general fiction and some just speculative fiction.
3. I can see it, of course. Will I ever get there? Perhaps not. Dreams are meant to be broken. Today there seems to be a glut of people vying for any position. I don't know if I'm vicious enough.

1. What is your age? - 33
2. What genre do you write? - Fantasy
3. Do you see yourself becoming famous, or well-known, in the publishing world? How long do you think it will take--approximately how much more time do you need to get there? Estimate. - Gee, that'd be pretty good wouldn't it? I'd like to see that happen, and I'd like to think I'm good enough. How long is it going to take? I'm patient, so I don't care how long it takes. Also, I get paid pretty well at the moment, so I'm ok on that front too.

1) 25, 26 on the twenty-first
2) Anything my mind comes up with. Although I won't write pure romance. Romance is good but only as a sub plot. Right now I'm mostly writing dark stuff, with a leaning towards horror.
3) Yes. I plan on having short stories published by the end of the year. And hopefully a novel from a nation wide (or larger) publisher before I'm 35. With at least one or more published novels a year after that.
My dreams don't do small. :)

Non-specific. I experiment a lot. I might try writing some science fiction this year.

Hello, Rob, aren't you an aspiring Horror writer?
No. I'm curious why you ask. I've not written any horror and haven't read any for many years, though I've recently bought 4 horror anthologies to become more familar with the genre.
Cheers,
Rob

Age: Erm, young.
Genre: Mostly science fiction (the science-based kind, not the "I fell in love with an alien . . . whose RNA, DNA, sexual habits and language matches that of homo sapiens perfectly" craptacular kind), speculative fiction, or fantasy.
I can see myself becoming well-known, but only within my genres or in science. (If I write another genre, such as children's literature or romance, I'll use a pseudonym.)
How long will it take? Well, I won't be able to write a lot until college and grad school (if I go) are over. I did write 65,000 words in one summer, but that hasn't repeated itself. So my best estimate is six months until a story sells, five years before a novel (probably not a good one) sells, and then . . . who knows? I can write -- heck, you folks can see that my grammar and syntax are fine -- and I have the prerequisite writing addiction. But I have, quite literally, no free time. (I'm having to squeeze this site into my schedule as it is.)
Good luck, everyone!

1. just about 18
2. horror/fantasy/regular teen fiction...just about anything...
3. I would like to become known, yes, but not because of the money or anything, that's just an added bonus. Writing should be done because you enjoy it, not for a paycheck. I think it would take me about 15-20 years to actually get known after I graduate. Possibly longer.

What genre? Whatever I feel like writing. Mainly fiction.
Famous? Are you kidding? I'm going to be the first ever dentist slash writer slash filmmaker slash archeologist slash... add another two or three occupations. When? The moment the world bows to my awesomeness:P Or the moment I start being serious... whichever happens first:rolleyes:
