If “no” became the only word he could say, he could express all his opinions quite clearly.

I thought this today about a particularly pessimistic and difficult man. Then I thought about other people who could get by with tiny vocabularies and still express all their sentiments. One friend’s would include Yes, No, How, When, and Yippee.

Mine would be: Do, Give, Want, Make, Me, You, Good, Thanks, Love, and Hurt.
