If no word can be thought of to match a letter, then it is skipped and you move on to the next. ::Shrugs:: I'll follow whatever the rules are as long as I know them. Technically, either category would work even with the rule. Just limit it to one word characters or movies. (cartoon characters: Archie, Batman, Clifford... movies: Avatar, Bewitched, Carrie...) But I'm fine with or without the rule.
