The Spiderman 3 hype has begun days before the World Premiere in Tokyo.

Fans have been going crazy outside the Universal Studios theme park in Osaka as Mary Jane Watson, aka Kirsten Dunst talked about why she thinks the movie's so great.

Toby McGuire returns as the superhero in a much-hyped new black spider suit tangling with his old adversary the Green Goblin, as well as the evil Sandman.

Undoubtedly Spiderman's love life will remain complicated as his relationship with old flame Mary Jane continues.

Kirsten Dunst said about the new film: "Obviously Peter Parker and Mary Jane's relationship has just grown deeper and so there's a lot of emotion in this film.

"Of course there are great action sequences as well." The film is out on May 4.

I'm a bit of a comic nerd, without the overriding obsession, piles of comics (only three medium size boxes full), or any action figures.
I'm allowed to be excited.

The only problem is that Venom doesn't actually appear very much in the movie.

Yeah, everyone I know didn't care for it. I thought it was okay.

Apparently there're making more after three, which sorta stinks.

Spiderman 2 was better.

If they are going to continue the series (and considering the huge profit, it makes sense business-wise for Marvel) I really hope they don't end up butchering the entire Spiderman character.

I'd like to see it but I'm not excited about it. I could wait for the DVD. xD

Yeah I'm the same, I'm waiting to watch it on DVD but I do definately want to watch it. Its more to do with the high cinema prices than the film itself though...

Alice in Wonderland

Yeah. The cinema can make it's money from all the hardcore fans. xD

I used to go like once every two weeks last year, and that was a lot for me... and probably for most - I don't know how often you guys go... but since January 2006 my local cinema has upped the ticket price by £4.70 in little increments, and thats just the tickets. We can't forget that they've upped the price of drinks, food/sweets/icecream and stuff :(

Take your own food and stuff in with you. xD I thought no one bought cinema food and such now. Guess not. o.o

I used to go less than once a month. Only if there was a film that had to be seen on a screen bigger than my house. I haven't been to the cinema for a looooong time now. The last time I went I saw Hot Fuzz.

Kit

Lol! Thats the last film I went to see aswell...

I take my own food sometimes but they get really harsh about it and sometimes kick people out because its a rule that you don't consume food not bought on the premises... how pathetic is that *rolls eyes*

What a coinky-dink. xD Did you enjoy it? I thought it was hilarious but the ending sort of dragged a little at one point. I forget which bit now.

What you need to do, is take a smallish back pack and stuff as many sweets and stuff in as you can. You could also go shopping before hand if you need to get something, like a new shirt. xD And hide all the stuff under the shirt in the bag. =D It's worked for me before.

Kit
05-12-2007, 05:59 AM
Yeah I loved it... it wasn't how I expected it to be though, it was better. I wasn't expecting the gory sort of ending.

Yeah that does usually work, until they walk in and your stuffing your face with food you've not bought there and they moan... not that i'd break any rules or anything...

Alice in Wonderland

You could always sit at the back and stuff your face discretely. xD

I skipped a couple of classes and went to see SpideyIII on Wednseday.

God it stank.

SpideyI I kinda liked, SpideyII I really liked - and I was looking forward to seeing the symbiote and sandman in action. But jesus even with these great bad-guys, the film still managed to bore the absolute living **** outta me.

Obvious boobs.

*Spidey was fat. A double chin for ****'s sake. The Spidey character is poor, a full time college student, a freelance photographer and a superhero at night to boot. So where does he find the time to pork out..?

*MJ "this is not about you" blah blah - this is a superhero movie... And we are treated to a good composite hour of total weepy teenage bull**** throughout the film. Spidey's trying to hunt down his Uncles (new) killer and MJ's whining on about getting dumped off a half-ass acting bit. Arrgh.

* Basically - too much bread and not enough meat. The directors obviously studied the demographic of the audience from the last two movies and said:

"Hmm - let's try to please absolutely everyone - fightin' for the guys, romance for the ladies - comedy for the wankers - bad guys who aren't really bad... Just misunderstood..."

Christ I miss bad guys who were just ****ing bad.

In synopsis: A. ****. film.

Whilst we're all entitled to an opinion, is the language (whether its censored out or not) really necessary?

I haven't even seen the second one yet. Oh well!

It was okay, dragged a bit, and venom wasn't in it for long enough in this film anyways.... :p But Toby Maguire does look chubbier in the face. Which isn't nice and I'm a bit of a hypocrite when I say it, but it's true.

Other than that, it does have some funny parts and the action is pretty cool and so is the sarcastic comments, which I love! MJ does get a bit whiny but she's just part of the whole Spiderman thing.

I give it a 8/10! :D And I can't wait for the DVD because of the extras... I hope it has extras!

Dear Kit,

Blatent swearing seems to be the only way I can get 4-stars attached to anything I write on this forum.

Arf-arf.:p

It was good I thought. I hated S1, thought S2 was quite good, and I'd place S3 somewhere in the middle. The plot was good enough, it was just padded out too much. That and the end went on forever. But it wasn't as bad as people seem to be saying. The whole "emo spiderman" was just comical, admittedly. And Venom was underplayed.

I'd give it 6 out of 10, I think. I've seen better, but I've seen much worse.

....Explain this atrocity.

She just...fits as MJ.
And she's got quite the good resume to back her up.
However, I didn't say I thought she was perfect. She spends a bit too much time being weepy, when the MJ character is always supposed to be bright and bubbly. However, that's not her fault- it's the writers'.

Yeah, but still. I find Kirsten Dunst isn't very good in getting the emotion through either, and she doesn't have the charm that the character is supposed to have.

.......perhaps it is partly superficial. But hey, I'm only human.
