Heather Louise 04-21-2007, 01:07 PM cool. isn't banzai like them little japanese trees?
Heather
Domoviye 04-21-2007, 01:14 PM They sound similar but aren't. The trees are called bonsai, the battle cry is banzai.
I picked Domoviye out of a book. I needed a name for my first e-mail account, and looked through the book "Field Guide of the Little People". It was one of the few names I could actually spell, wasn't feminine, and not already in use.
And after that I just kept using it. Its an uncommon name, so there's virtually no chance of anyone using it besides me.
Heather Louise 04-21-2007, 02:01 PM They sound similar but aren't. The trees are called bonsai, the battle cry is banzai. oqq, lol. thanks for clarifying. lol.
and cool name, i couldn't think of anything so i stuck with heather. althoug, i did use to sign up for things by Mc Munchie (a nickname that started a few years ago when we were making our mc names, lol.)
Heather
Hmmm i'm pretty boring.... Kit because its my nickname and 603 were a suggestion of random numbers that were added to the end of my hotmail address because the one I wanted was taken. Have used it since...
Alice in Wonderland 04-21-2007, 03:36 PM Alice in Wonderland. Take a Guess? xD
I really loved the books and seem to have a fasination with anything Wonderlandy in nature. That's why I picked the name. I guess a lot of people fancy a world inside their mind... I like the feeling of having my own little world. ^^
Onoria Westhrop 04-21-2007, 04:36 PM I use Onoria because it sounds funny. Sort of PG Woodhouse-y. Oh, and Banzai means "ten thousand years" - it's something like saying 'vive/viva'.
mammamaia 04-21-2007, 05:11 PM i've been 'mammamaia' ever since i first went online, about 10 years ago... my name is 'maia' and i'm a mom of 7... hence, the username... plus, i help and mentor aspiring writers of all breeds, all over the world, so i'm 'mamma' to many of 'em...
Raven 04-21-2007, 05:31 PM I use the name Hulls Raven for two reasons.
One. I earnt the name Raven from my fellow Army Colleges.
Two Because I live in a town Called Kingston Upon Hull I simply added the Hulls For the Internet. Many people across the whole net know me famously as Hulls Raven.
In real life my friends and colleges call me Raven. Its a name I earnt for good reasons.
~Raven.
Frost 04-21-2007, 07:22 PM Frost, just because I liked it.
Lily, because it's simple, elegant, and a name I wish I had.
SeaBreeze 04-22-2007, 04:09 AM Dropbear_Oz because some Australians tell myths about dropbears... think killer koalas that drop fom trees. They tend to be bigger too! They tell this myth about Dropbears to tourists to stir them up a bit! oh, and oz because.... I'm from Oz! and I've always wanted to use this as a username!.
Oh and Yay me! I just bought my first car!!!!
Crazy Ivan 04-22-2007, 08:34 AM I used Crazy Ivan...cuz it sounded cool, really. Also, Ivan is a fun name. And Crazy shows that I am someone to rarely be taken seriously.
It wasn't until about five months later that I found out that Crazy Ivan is the name of a commonly-used submarine maneuver. That was weird.
Twili 04-22-2007, 08:45 AM Twili came from the fact that I started using the name twilight and then on alot of things that name would have already be taken so I shortend it to twili.
Plus with as much junk as I do on the net and all the names I use I have to use stuff thats short and sweet.
wordwizard 04-22-2007, 10:37 PM wordwizard...because I am a wizard with words.....well not really and the name makes me sound like a boy so that kind of sucks. but thats what I picked.
Eoz Eanj 04-23-2007, 08:33 AM I'll give 10 golden stars to whoever guesses the significance of my username.
Gannon 04-23-2007, 09:40 AM It's Zoe Jane isn't it?
My user name is Gannon. It's also my surname.
Gannon is a pretty cool surname to have.
Anyway.
Myst was the protagonist's name in the first story I ever wrote myself. I've adopted it as my literary persona since.
It also stands for several things I like to associate myself with, e.g. mystical, mysterious. Lol!
Yeah, and before you say anything, I know about the game.
Eoz Eanj 04-23-2007, 10:00 AM It's Zoe Jane isn't it?
10 Golden Stars!
That was difficult wasn't it, lawl.
Myst is indeed mysterious, I am yet to even know their gender.
Well. You want a hint?
I'm not a girl.
Tough, I know, but I'm sure you can figure it out.
Eoz Eanj 04-23-2007, 10:11 AM You're a malfe?
OH MY GOD!
*edit*
I've just lost a bet with jetblack about your gender. It's ok, I owed him money away.
You and jetblack bet on my gender?
-directs weirded-out looks at the computer monitor-
I suppose you never really can tell with me.
Crazy Ivan 04-23-2007, 02:29 PM I know I confuzzled many people about my gender, until I told them "Look at the second word in the username, bozo."
Kind of a dead giveaway, a name like that.
Sayso 04-24-2007, 03:22 AM My sister gave me this name whan I was born and it sounds nothing like my real name.
Torana 04-24-2007, 05:21 AM Mine is due to my love of Toranas they are such a beautiful car....:D
daisydaisy 04-24-2007, 07:12 AM Mine came about when I joined another message board, and at the time I was researching my family tree, specifically a great aunt called Daisy. The name Daisy was taken, so I called myself daisydaisy after a song my dad used to sing to me as a child. My real name is Tereasa.
The Spartan 04-25-2007, 07:34 AM I joined this place a couple of days after watching 300 Spartans, and I live within spitting distance (well, okay - a short bus journey) of Sparta.
And so The Spartan was born.
Tonight we dine in Hell, etc.
Night Haunter 04-25-2007, 09:01 AM I earnt the name Raven from my fellow Army Colleges.
The question begs why did Hulls raven earn the name Raven. What did he do to earn that name.
Im Intrigued
Evelyn 04-25-2007, 09:14 AM "Evelyn" is my actual legal (middle) name.
One of the first web forums I wanted to post on was in the throes of a really nasty troll war, with the troll(s) constantly getting banned and coming back on with new names. The poster that I most admired was the focus of the trolling, and he was asking people for their real names: he used his own real name as his user name.
I'm not comfortable using my full real name on the net, but my middle name seemed reasonable. It's common enough that I don't have to worry about people knocking on my door, but uncommon enough that it's often not already taken. And it's short, and fairly easy to pronounce and spell.
And, when I become a world-famous writer :), I plan to use the name "Evelyn Kift" as my pen name
("Kift" is one of my grandmothers' maiden names), and so if "Evelyn" is taken on a writing forum, I use "evelynkift."
- Evelyn
.PeanutButter 04-25-2007, 01:35 PM I used this username on another forum, and I liked it. But the reason I chose it on that forum was because the day I joined, I had a cold and I ate peanut butter on toast for my meals because I couldn't eat anything. My family's a peanut butter family in any case. My parents both worked in JIF peanut butter plant before I was born until I was five.
Peanut Butter rocks.
