I'm snap--that's obvious. I thought I should do a quick intro to myself to start to get to know people here. I found this site through my very best friend in the world--google. Anyway, I'm a high school senior, about to graduate in three weeks. I just finished my first novel, "Beauty--the Beast," and am currently trying to break into the cut throat world of publishing.

I like to...um...write, but I also do magic tricks and juggle.

Haha, unfortunately, I don't have a youtube account. Even if I did, I don't think I'd know how to use it. Technology and I have a love-hate relationship...

Haha, I don't even have a video of myself. Shows how ignorant I am. :(

Anyway, my book is a young adult romance. It's a take off on the fairytale Beauty and the Beast (I bet you didn't see that one coming :)) What I actually did was took the "magic" out of the fairytale, so it actually COULD have happened. Instead of a big hairy beast, it's a man hideously deformed. I just got a positive response from an agent, and am waiting for her to read my first 50 pages and synopsis. :)

well you have an agent which is a good first step. how did you make that happen so quickly?

Pure dumb luck. lol. I sent out queries, and got a positive response within a week. She still hasn't accepted me yet. I'm holding my breath.....

well good luck with that. did you send her a piece of your story, or just letter about what you had completed? what was your game plan?

I just sent out a bunch of queries....and started praying. :) No sample chapters, and while I did send one synopsis out, that's not who I got a response back from. I hated writing the query, though, it was so HARD!! Ah, well. I did it, which is what's important. :)

Magic tricks, huh? Neat.

Congratulations on the completion of your novel. Hopefully the agent will get back to you with good news, such as she's accepting it and here's a multi-million dollar book and movie contract.
