I would like to see this function as a tool for our writers to able to use when critiquing our work.

I don't know if even the admin can mess with the site's HTML capabilities.

There is a BB Code Manager that allows a site admin to create and update BB codes (the markup enclosed by square-bracketed tags), according the the vBulletin online docs. It sounds like it is pretty easy to use.

We can definitely do this... I'll update you as soon as it's set up.

Strikethroughs do not work!

Actually, they do now. :P

Place around whatever you want, minus the asterisks (*) and it should be strikethroughed!

Wait a min, how'd you do that?!

You do it like this.

You put [s*] and [/s*] around something, but without the asterisks.

Strike that! (This was one line)

Daniel, currently this expands to a DIV tag; if you change it to a SPAN tag it won't cause a line break before and after the strikethrough.

Alternately, you could expand it to a STRIKE tag instead of a style specifier.

By the way (Eyez or anyone else), anytime you want to see the BB code that created an effect, hit the Quote button and you can see the code in the editor pane.

thanks

Time to work on other people's critique.

Cogito, you're annoying observant, ahem. Correct.

Should be Is Fixed. Thanks. :P

if it's so easy, why doesn't the admin add the icon to the tool bar?

Cogito

That may be more difficult. I'm not sure whether the BB Code Manager supports that.

And thanks, Daniel, for the rapid fix!

ah, so!... oh, well... at least now i know how to do it 'by hand'... thanks!

This is a strikethrough.

We don't have a strikethrough button in the editor. :( Yes, we do! :D

Daniel

MM, Cog, thanks. I hadn't thought of adding it to the editor - it was actually quite easy.

Excellent! I guess the BB Code Manager (in the right hands) is more powerful than I realized.

^ hah. Yup. There's a field for "button image/url" or some such thing. All I had to do was enter the url to the image. :p
