I believe EVERYONE who posts something here wants that piece critiqued --one way or the other.
I have noticed that, for whatever reasons, MANY posts receive so few reviews.
There are THOUSANDS of members in this Forum, yet posts fade into obscurity with less than double-digit reviews --morally unacceptable! (in my humble opinion)
People post here, wanting ... needing impressions on, acknowledgment, ... contact for their passion and effort in producing the pieces they have.
Let us, please, give it!
I also understand that due to the, sometimes, tediousness of the reviewing process, and time, interest and whatever other constraints, we may not be able to 'fully' critique pieces.
However, at least, a reach-out, via a 5 point quick review, is more than do-able.
Therefore, along with, or in lieu of, regular spelling, grammar and thematic reviews, I propose a quick 5 point review option --with an optional brief explanation.
E.g:
3 / 5 stars (or points) --I liked your (poem/ story), but it had too many SP&G errors that I'll look into later.
Or, simply: 3 / 5 stars (period).
I know the Forum MODs may not deem this as proper critiquing, but, from what I've experienced and observed, even a 'look in' is better than nothing.
I just think it's depressing, so many posts going virtually untouched.
At least, with the 5 point review, one is assured of some contact --good or bad-- which I strongly believe is better than none at all.
(Hate me, if you will, but don't ignore me --that's hell!).
I hope this 5 point / star proposal will be seriously considered and upheld by the MODs.
If it is, at least, from now on, each post SHOULD receive dozens (and more) 'feedback'.
Do I need to beat the horse and state that it will be IMPERATIVE for members (all if possible) to implement this points-review process --for all our benefit?
Thank you for your time and effort in reading this.
(I don't know if this has been proposed before. Perhaps, a poll can be taken on this).
