I've noticed that there's a reputation system enabled here. Can I ask what the levels are, and how the system knows how much rep we give? Is it always one point per rep?

Just curious.

Sure thing.

Everyone starts with a default value of 10 rep points. This constitutes one "http://www.writingforums.org/images/skins/cloudskin/reputation/reputation_pos.gif symbol. Once you reach 100 such points, you get two "http://www.writingforums.org/images/skins/cloudskin/reputation/reputation_pos.gif" symbols.

By default, you can alter other people's reputation by 1 point. However, this changes.

-Every year you get a rep altering ability by +1 point.
-Every 500 posts you get the rep altering ability of +1 point.
-Every 100 rep points you get (default 10) you get the rep altering ability of +1 point.

Rep has no effect unless you have at least 1 rep point (default 10) and have at least 50 posts here.

The system's good, but only when a site's really active. Doesn't really have any "real" meaning to it, but it's fun I suppose.

You can add rep by using the "http://www.writingforums.org/images/skins/cloudskin/buttons/reputation.gif" symbol. You can viewy our current rep and rep comments in your user cp at the bottom.

Ah, okay. The other board that I post at that has "rep" does it differently. Thanks for taking the time to explain.
