Emerald 11-07-2008, 02:29 PM I was only kidding, mainly about Teele. Still, there seems to be a lot of RPs centered around weapon/gun-totting heroes fighting an oppressive evil.
Which is pretty much what 51 is about :p
Except I'm trying to make it all very mysterious and unpredictable (like, say, Lost)
While we're on the subject, any advice on how to attract players, and keep them coming back? How would you envision the perfect RP? (Not that I'm trying to be perfect -- I'm just interested)
Teele 11-07-2008, 02:31 PM Dude, n00bishness has nothing to do with it, as a matter of fact. I racked up a dozen players in a couple days with my first RPG (which failed, but lesson learned!), even though I was fairly fresh. It has everything to do with the potential of the story. :D
And yeah, in Rogue City (which we just played), we were involved in very little actual action. My character was able to use his fighting skills twice, I think, in the whole story. The rest was mystery and interaction. It's all good! :)
Thanos 11-07-2008, 02:32 PM Yea one epic battle with me and Idk the other time.
It is all about the interaction which is the best part. Oh and character developement
Teele 11-07-2008, 02:37 PM The tips for keeping things going, as far as I've observed, are as follows:
- Be active
- Keep stuff coming; dry spells are evil.
- Always be a few steps ahead; have something planned. This is a double-edged sword in that you can't plan every minute detail, because spontaneity is part of the fun of an RPG. I think there's a balance involved between planning and letting the players have their space.
- Create interesting, consistent, creative bad guys; whether on the cannon fodder level or the boss level. Anybody who remembers Vornn from Cyberpunk can testify to the usefulness of this technique. :D
- You're allowed to be sadistic. (I have no idea where I got this idea (Foxee and Blossom) AHEM!)
- Do something unexpected. Mind-bending plot twists are good.
...and someone can add more if they like...
Thanos 11-07-2008, 02:43 PM I actually wish there was a place like a place I use to RP at. We called it the Tavern. and like basically we would hold different types of story in one place which we all stayed and did out landish things. Sometimes a story would occur like someone ripping into our universe and stealing souls. But basically it was almost like god modding but extensions of ourselves jsut hanging out in a Tavern lol.
Emerald 11-07-2008, 02:53 PM Right, that's good advice, but it's also rather vague.
I'm talking about what you personally find attractive in a story. What works? What doesn't work?
I love mysterious plots with plenty of twists and turns, but I sometimes find that it can be a bit constrictive for the players, like they just end up coasting from twist A to twist B without having much effect on their environment. So I encourage them to derail the plot if they feel it's getting away from them.
In one RP I did, it was based around a little girl who was insane and lived in her own dream world -- the players played as both dream characters, and the real characters that the dream characters were based on within the girl's psyche. I ran through this whole story arc where her evil father visits the mental hospital and terrorises her, and then I ran out of ideas. So this clever player decides to have his real character show up in the dream world, and imply that the dream world was a real physical place the whole time which the girl had been seeing through strange visions. Which I developed into a cool fantasy adventure.
Foxee 11-07-2008, 03:09 PM While we're on the subject, any advice on how to attract players, and keep them coming back? How would you envision the perfect RP? (Not that I'm trying to be perfect -- I'm just interested)
Go back and study some of the past games that were successful (such as *ahem* Phoenix Colony which was one of the all-time most successful games on this site. It was also the first game I tried GMing on here.)
Have a look at some of the ones that died quickly.
It's kind of tough as GM to know exactly how much guidance to give and how much freedom to give. Check out FlakeandFins's games...he's one of the best GM's on this site.
Teele 11-07-2008, 03:14 PM Nice! Sounds pretty good.
:p Okay, for me, personally, I like almost any story where the interaction is rich, and there's potential for action and movement. I like to see deep relationships between player characters, and situations that strength those bonds. And I certainly don't mind when these situations involve large guns and/or sharp swords!
My genres of preference for the stories themselves are fantasy and science fiction. I love being part of a creative world where a character that I've created can make a difference.
lol. Little less vague? :D
Emerald 11-07-2008, 03:34 PM Go back and study some of the past games that were successful (such as *ahem* Phoenix Colony which was one of the all-time most successful games on this site. It was also the first game I tried GMing on here.)
Hmm, I'm skimming through it a bit. Notice a lot of detail in the initial post, and a lot of enthusiasm from the very beginning...
Anything you can think of that helped you sustain the RP over such a long period of time?
Edit: Wait... did that whole 284 pages really just accumulate over the course of one month? That's... fast.
Blossom 11-07-2008, 04:10 PM - You're allowed to be sadistic. (I have no idea where I got this idea (Foxee and Blossom) AHEM!) Sadistic? Me??? Never! (Foxee on the other hand ...)
Emerald, to me it sounds like you already have a fairly good grasp of what it takes to GM a game. I said earlier on this thread to Leaka that the way I like to GM is to have a starting point, an ending I'm aiming for and a few twists/triggers planned that I can pick and choose from to suit where the players are.
For me RPGing is at its best when players are able to really get into the character interaction and development but there's enough action to keep them interested. The only way you're really going to find that balance, though, is through experience. You'll get a feel for whether or not the players are enjoying your RP or not and why as you go along and the more experience you have the better you'll get as a GM.
Good luck :)
Good advice everyone *swots up*
I'll take a look at Pheonix Colony too.
I have a question about NPC's though... what differentiates them from the GM's characters? Are they supposed to be more minor?
Foxee 11-07-2008, 05:13 PM I think you can have two types of NPC's...ones that are played by a certain person or persons (the GM or whoever) and characters that anyone in the game can control when they need to.
Emerald 11-07-2008, 05:20 PM Yeah. Generally it's the former. See, you're a Player; your character is a Player Character; whatever character is not played by a player is a Non-Player Character. Usually, on a forum, the only person in an RP that isn't a Player is a GM, so he controls the NPCs. NPCs controlled by Players would technically be a PC with shared control.
Blossom 11-07-2008, 05:22 PM Yeah, pretty much.
Usually with GM NPCs anyone can move them around or make them say a couple of lines of dialogue, but they're almost always important to the storyline in one way or another and their significance is a secret to be revealed at the GM's disrection ... thus it's best not to mess with them, or risk aggravating your GM (which can be bad or funny, depending on the GM).
Other NPCs are usually either characters whose players have dropped out for various reasons or random characters invented for a particular scene or whatever and so have no long term importance whatsoever and therefore are fair game to mess with.
In my experience that's about it, anyway.
Thanos 11-07-2008, 05:23 PM Depends on how you look at it. NPC could just be someone who isn't used often so wouldn't be catergorized as a PC.
Emerald 11-07-2008, 06:50 PM Well, I was looking at it in an uptight, pedantic way :p
The main idea behind an NPC is that they aren't working towards an end. They exist for a purpose; they're not playing. Whereas the PCs are. As soon as an NPC starts 'playing', it becomes a PC, really.
It's a throwback to tabletop gaming.
CommonGoods 11-08-2008, 08:22 AM PC:
Played Character (Original D&D)
Player's Character (AD&D)
Patron Character (Unknown Source)
Personal Computer (Ehrm waith... why did I include this?)
Personal Character (Some AD&D guidebooks)
So yah, there are many ways to define PC... I tend to stick to the rule; if the GM made them, they're NPC's.
Raven 11-08-2008, 08:40 AM What does NPC stand For?
Nikhil 11-08-2008, 08:41 AM What does NPC stand For?
Non Playable Character
Raven 11-08-2008, 08:43 AM Ah... I wondered.
Emerald 11-08-2008, 08:45 AM Ehh, Non-Player Character
Edit: Bah, too slow.
Anyway, I'm surprised you've been GMing all this time without knowing that Raven :p
Nikhil 11-08-2008, 08:46 AM Hey Raven Could you adjust my signature?
Thanos 11-08-2008, 08:48 AM Emerald, Some things have special circumstances so can't be nit picky about it.
Nikhil, I think you have to donate to get a siggy because most people I see with a sig are supporters. Also as you can see I set the image code for my sig in my sig but it's only a link
Raven 11-08-2008, 09:04 AM Hey Raven Could you adjust my signature?
What do you want doing?
Emerald 11-08-2008, 09:22 AM Yeah, you need to pay to use pictures in your signature. And to have your own title/message.
Raven 11-08-2008, 09:38 AM Erm I'n not sure what your asking me to do?
Emerald 11-08-2008, 10:18 AM Probably doesn't have anything to do with RPs anyway.
Hey, Raven, when is one able to open the Discussion thread? Can you open it before the RP starts so people can talk about it before making their characters?
Raven 11-08-2008, 10:54 AM Yes but only once the game has been listed in the stickied Coming Soon (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=14865) thread.
Cogito 11-08-2008, 11:04 AM Yeah, you need to pay to use pictures in your signature. And to have your own title/message.
Signature image is NOT a benefit of Supporter status. It has always been by permission from the site owner only.
Emerald 11-08-2008, 11:25 AM Hey Raven, could you open up the main RP thread for 51 so I can edit it?
And while I'm on the subject, another question:
Which kind of setup are you guys most comfortable with:
a) The GM plays a character who leads the other PCs around, directly progressing the story when it slows down, or hits a snag.
or
b) The GM plays a character alongside the other characters, but doesn't lead the group, and leaves it to the players to figure out what to do/where to go next.
or
c) The GM doesn't join the rest of the cast, and instead focuses on controlling the NPCs and the environment, leaving the players to explore it on their own terms.
Thanos 11-08-2008, 05:35 PM Signature image is NOT a benefit of Supporter status. It has always been by permission from the site owner only.
Oh well I have img tags but my sig still doesn't show up if you could tell me how to get my sig up that would be great. I just noticed that that is all no big
Cogito 11-08-2008, 07:19 PM As I said - it's only by permission of the site owner. I am not he. But that permission was mostly given in the early days of the site. The current trend is to limit sigs, because of the ridiculous extremes people have taken them to.
Thanos 11-08-2008, 07:42 PM Ah well I guess I am on my own in figuring that one out
Teele 11-09-2008, 09:59 PM Hey Raven, could you open up the main RP thread for 51 so I can edit it?

I like any of these; although the game where I think I had the most fun used a style similar to c). We were given a little more freedom to engineer interesting situations, while still staying within the domain of the rules and the GM's guidance.
But any style works for me!
Emerald 11-15-2008, 05:32 PM What happened to the discussion thread for 51? Did you close it along with the main thread? I thought it was able to stay open at least:
Yes but only once the game has been listed in the stickied Coming Soon (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=14865) thread.
Emerald 11-18-2008, 01:55 PM Again, is the 51 Discussion thread permanently gone or just hidden? If hidden, could some friendly mod un-hide it?
Raven 12-03-2008, 04:41 AM Teele Is now a Moderator in the RPG sections.
Teele 12-03-2008, 07:31 AM Hiya, folks! I think all of you know me, so not much point in an introduction, but I just wanna send a thanks out to Raven and Daniel, and let everyone know that I shall to my best to use my modly powers in a fair and equitable manner. :D
Foxee 12-03-2008, 07:34 AM God help us...Teele is in Mod Mode!
Congrats, Teele!
CommonGoods 12-03-2008, 07:42 AM Aw my gawd! Teele, congratulations man!
Just for my record, what does this mean? :p
Raven 12-03-2008, 08:18 AM It means Teele is a god in rpg now. ;) And his word is Law. ;)
CommonGoods 12-03-2008, 08:19 AM Og god, I mean, Oh Teele... we're doomed :p
Teele 12-03-2008, 08:22 AM LOL!! Or, as I like to put it:
1 4M 73H 90D...
But no worries. You won't be getting any fire from heaven unless you deserve it. :D
Blossom 12-03-2008, 08:29 AM Bring on the smiting Teele-style!
Congrats :D
Teele 12-03-2008, 08:33 AM LOL. Thanks for the congrats, mates. :D
Thanos 12-03-2008, 09:20 AM OMFG My best fran is MOD GOD <333
Woo :D Good choice.
Gratz, Teele :)
soujiroseta 12-03-2008, 06:32 PM awesome!!! Congratulations Teele:D
Teele 12-03-2008, 07:14 PM LOL. Thanks again, mates!
Zcreative 12-03-2008, 08:42 PM When does a particular RPG end or start? I'm kinda confused and I don't think I can join midstream through an RPG...so I'll just wait it out. Can anyone PM me with this useful and very precious info? TYYYY
Z :confused::confused:.........................;)
CommonGoods 12-04-2008, 08:01 AM Zcreative, welcome to the RPGs, send you a PM to answer your questions. Didn't want to start a rant here, was afraid Teele might be tempted to use his newly aquired "Decimate"-button ;)
Teele 12-04-2008, 08:05 AM LOL! No worries, CG. I may be scary, but I'm not draconian. :D I sent Zcreative a pm last night, meself.
CommonGoods 12-04-2008, 08:22 AM Well, what is not, may yet become ;)
And couldn't you have told me! That would have saved me the 5 minutes it took to write my own PM, I could have... *looks around* ... I could have been...
Ah screw it, nothing here to do but write PM's and browse the site a bit. Stuck at school while waithing for the rest of the people of the debating-team to show up...
Did you know we can create polls! (Yes, I only just found out, and yes, I am actualy so bored I don't mind that it's stupid I only just found that out. And yes, that was a correct sentence. And yes, I'll stop typing now :D)
Teele 12-04-2008, 08:27 AM LOL! Well, while you're looking for something to browse, go take a look at the new teaser over on the discussion thread. :D
CommonGoods 12-04-2008, 08:32 AM Teaser?!
Be right back!
EDIT: GOD-mod AND GM? Don't let the power get to you Teele ;)
No but seriously, this gonna start in January? As a replacement for Exodus, or what?
Thanos 12-04-2008, 10:12 AM I been reading Teele's Crystan stuff XD
Without his consent <.< >.> WHAT!?
Good stuff and can't wait.
EDIT: Rybok's AND Crystan in January 2009. This place is gonna be BOOMIN'!
Teele 12-04-2008, 11:06 AM Just lettin' you guys know, I'm starting work on a new pair of guides for the RPG forums. As I put 'em together, if you guys wanna keep tabs on my accuracy, and offer advice/suggestions as to what should be included, that'd be great. :)
CommonGoods 12-04-2008, 11:18 AM To replace the guides Oasis made? Or just o add some stuff?
Either way, I'd be happy to help out.
Teele 12-04-2008, 11:21 AM To replace his. I asked Raven, and he gave me the go-ahead to do so. Normally, I'd just add to them, but Oasis' guide is copyrighted, so I'm not allowed. I'm certainly going to give credit where credit is due, however, and make sure I mention the old guide in the new ones. :)
CommonGoods 12-04-2008, 11:32 AM You better ;) Would hate it if some kind of crazy ass b!tch fight broke loose between the two of you :p
Teele 12-04-2008, 11:40 AM LOL! Doubt it would happen. Oasis is on kind of erratically and I don't think I've seen him do anything major around here since I started. Even so, far be it from me to neglect to show proper appreciation for work well done. :)
Foxee 12-04-2008, 11:46 AM I know I learned a lot from Oasis's guide. Night and day from when I tried (disastrously) to run and RP on a different site before reading it.
Phoenix was the first RP I tried running here and it was a history-making barn-burner (what can I say? I had great players. :D) so hooray for a dedicated RP forum and some handy instructions!
Cogito 12-04-2008, 02:31 PM Suggestion: When you have your TOC pretty well knocked into shape, why don't you make a post for each section (and a couple of empty-ish posts at the end of each chapter for expansion - they can be soft-deleted until needed). Then you can make each TOC line a link to the appropriate page in the thread. Also put a Back to TOC link at the bottom of each post.
Teele 12-04-2008, 02:34 PM Exactly my plan, Cog! :)
ZionsRodeVos 12-04-2008, 02:59 PM Congratulations Teele!! I can't wait to see the new RPG guides.
CommonGoods 12-05-2008, 05:12 AM Now we're all done sucking up to Teele (remember, I think your the most awesomenest GOD-mod), could someone (that's you Teele) figure out what we're going to do with 51?
Emerald, well, vanished... 6 days since his last activity, and last time I checked, he didn't report a trip or any other type of absence. And with 51 GMless, we can't really continue.
The place turned into a ghost town.
So, what are we going to do? I've heard some people talk about a replacement GM. I've got to say, I'm not a huge supporter of that idea. Not because I don't have faith in you guys (I love you guys, especialy the awesomenest GOD-mod), but because 51 has some real mysteries in it, and I don't think any of us really knew what was going on... meaning that the GM would have to reinvent several aspects of the game, which requires time.
So even with a replacement GM, it would take a long time before the game was up and running again, and I'm not sure if that's what we want.
So, what do you guys think?
((Posted it here because of the GOD-mod-presence, and the fact this will reach a wider audience, who no doubt all have something sensible to add.))
Teele 12-05-2008, 07:45 AM Alrighty, here's the situation:
Two currently active RPGs: Exodus and Continent.
One still waiting to start, because the GM wants more players: Ancient Legend.
One just finished: Sanctuary.
One stopped in its tracks due to its GMless nature: 51
Now, I'm going to PM Emerald about it right now, but if he's gone for a while longer, he might not get to it anyway. I'm also going to talk to Chad, see what specific ideas he had in mind for it, and then, if the plans look good, we'll let it ride.
Otherwise, I'm gonna have to lay it to rest.
In either case, I'm going to see about releasing a new game we have on queue. ;)
Gloom Kitty 12-05-2008, 07:56 AM That sounds great been waiting to worm my way into a new RPG ^_^
CommonGoods 12-05-2008, 08:18 AM Gloom Kitty doesn't worm her way in! She can split the RPG's apart, like that bearded guy did with the sea :p
Teele 12-05-2008, 10:01 AM Hey folks. Just letting you know, I'm taking the liberty of modifying Raven's 'RPG Games Coming Soon' thread into a 'Current and Future RPGs' thread. This will be another idea grabbed from one Oasis had up when I first joined, but was dropped not too long after. I'll be making updates to this thread as games are added, released, and finished.
:)
Gloom Kitty 12-05-2008, 05:42 PM Gloom Kitty doesn't worm her way in! She can split the RPG's apart, like that bearded guy did with the sea :p
LOL you're to kind, you don't do to bad yourself
Mike Nemesis 12-05-2008, 06:52 PM Well done on editing the thread Teele its a lot better now. You know whats going on more now and when to expect everything.
AS much as i owuld like to carry on with 51 i dont know if it should without Emerald he clearly hadsome plans that we don't have an insight into and i wouldn't want somewhat to guide it in a different direction to it.
I noticed ancient legend got archived it never had a chance to make it. 21 players was to much i think.
Gloom Kitty 12-05-2008, 06:54 PM How many players does legand need? i can put up a profile if it's still going to be played.
Mike Nemesis 12-05-2008, 06:55 PM wanted 21 and had about 8 then Nikhil started suggesting we made 2 characters but the time its taking people were discussing dropping out anyway.
Gloom Kitty 12-05-2008, 07:05 PM I think looking at how many you have in legand already you've got plenty Raven set a limit as I remember of 12 to an RPG
Thanos 12-05-2008, 07:06 PM Yea well I guess since it's archived I'll pull that profile out and use it later.
Maybe for an upcoming RPG. -cough-
Gloom Kitty 12-05-2008, 07:10 PM Bummer, I really wanted to play LOL
Thanos 12-05-2008, 07:16 PM I would have wanted you to play too.
But I think I have enough trouble keeping 1 character in 3 - 5 RPGs. So I wasn't gonna take up 2 in 1 -___-.
But I am in the midst of something in mind so. Pack your things and get ready for my ride XD.
Gloom Kitty 12-05-2008, 07:18 PM LOL, something about that is unnerving you making an RPG?
Thanos 12-05-2008, 07:29 PM I am messing with some ideas.
But you will see. Fun stuff XD.
Dead it is tonight @.@. Or I am just stuck inside with no where to go.
Gloom Kitty 12-05-2008, 07:59 PM LOL yeah it's pretty quiet
Teele 12-06-2008, 01:13 AM Hey guys,
Yeah, looks like Raven closed down Ancient Legend; not exactly sure why meself. It also looks like Raven lined up some release dates for everything, too, so we know what to expect when. :)
CommonGoods 12-06-2008, 10:45 AM This is frightning... so little amount of posts today
Is today some kind of holiday I'm not aware of? :p
Teele 12-06-2008, 10:49 AM Yup. It is known as Saturday. :)
Weekends are always a little slow around here.
Mike Nemesis 12-06-2008, 07:53 PM Well weekends need to be more lively to act as a distraction from the fact that i get turned away from the club all my m8s got in to on the basis i was wearing steel toe capped shoes grrr the dress code is smart. That is smart. Its also street smart lol
On a more RP related aspect I've been thinking of a potential RP to create myself probably won't take much action on it till like febuary either way though will let my exams get done, allow some time to think about it and let Teele's Crystan kick in ;)
That and one of my ideas involves using powers again and the Continent and Crystan is already doing that so need some spacing between haha
Gloom Kitty 12-06-2008, 08:24 PM I'm working on an RPG myself can't see it coming out until late feb
Teele 12-06-2008, 08:27 PM Well, glad to see we're booked probably into March! :D
Gloom Kitty 12-06-2008, 08:30 PM Yeap ^_^
Teele 12-06-2008, 08:33 PM Are you going be trying Nearover again, Kitty?
Shadow Dragon 12-06-2008, 08:39 PM I hope so, that looked like a good game. Also, that's an insane amount of time to be back up for rpgs.
Gloom Kitty 12-06-2008, 09:11 PM Are you going be trying Nearover again, Kitty?
Probably not it didn't turn out so well, I had thought perhaps another horror since Hell over high water didn't go all that badly to start with. At the end though I think a dark fantasy would be the one I'd use
Teele 12-06-2008, 09:13 PM Well, whatever you have in mind, I'm sure it'll be great. ;)
CommonGoods 12-07-2008, 08:01 AM The world needs more dark fantasy... I'm re-reading Tamara Siler Jones and Robert Newcomb, not enough enjoyable dark fantasy to go around!
Teele 12-07-2008, 03:29 PM Whew...
Okay, folks, the first draft of The New Players' Guide (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=16801) is now finished! If you all wouldn't mind skimming through it, and making sure I got everything important, and perhaps offering a few suggestions, I would be most grateful! :D
Gloom Kitty 12-07-2008, 09:10 PM I don't know if you guys are interested but I found this today
http://www.roleplayingtips.com/articles/index.php
I've been finding it really helpful
Teele 12-07-2008, 09:12 PM Nice. Looks like a lot of cool stuff for all kinds of roleplaying. :D
Gloom Kitty 12-07-2008, 09:21 PM Yeah I thought it was pretty darn neat being using the Hierarchy of evil for the RPG I'm working on, Cry wolf
Foxee 12-07-2008, 11:50 PM Whew...

I just read through it and it looks really good! No suggestions yet. :)
Darkthought 12-08-2008, 02:41 AM Sweet action...I was mentioned in the guide by the new Moderator.
Darkthought 12-08-2008, 02:44 AM Another thing I noticed. This forum has a severe lack of Persistent World RPs. Perhaps a subforum should be started and we could all work out something to that effect. It would keep the RP section alive and give the players something to do when the main role-plays close down.

Perhaps a subforum should be started and we could all work out something to that effect. It would keep the RP section alive and give the players something to do when the main role-plays close down.
That sounds, very awesome Dark wonder if Telee would let us another thing is who would start it?
Darkthought 12-08-2008, 03:08 AM Well...Persistent World role-plays are kind of weird to set up. Since its going to be the same world all the time with characters coming and going we would have to decide on the type of world. Or maybe there could be a different thread for each type of genre; Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Real World. That kind of thing. Once the particulars of the world are decided the RP takes on a life of its own and requires very little GM management. Teele would probably be to busy with Mod duties to start it himself, but seeing as it doesn't require a whole lot of tedious management I would be able to take care of something like that. I'll discuss it with Teele in the morning I guess....but I'm pretty sleepy now.
Gloom Kitty 12-08-2008, 04:36 AM i would stick with one plot to starting witrh to see how it goes, I've worked in these sorts of RPG's before and they don't work if something fresh is not brought to the table constantly. The PC's need to create a plot then after following it through create another. Also I found it handy to work in seasons. so their could be short breaks between action and so the threads were split into sections season one, season two and so on. Even though these RPG's are pretty easy to look after there should be as Darkthought said a GM to help out here and there
ZionsRodeVos 12-08-2008, 07:12 AM I like the sound of a few Persistent Worlds if I've understood them correctly. They would be similar to RPG's except that they wouldn't really ever end. And it sounds like more control would be given to the players rather than the GM to shape and manipulate events.
In this case would more than 12 players be allowed?
Teele 12-08-2008, 07:18 AM LOL. Well, when I first came, one of the ideas I had was to do something like what you guys are talking about, but I didn't know if such a thing could be done.
I was also thinking of perhaps creating a subforum for collective worldbuilding: where we all kind of work on imaginary worlds and environments together, and then use them in RPGs.
But, the idea of a Persistent World, where basically any player can come and go as they please, work at their own pace, and work with other players to create adventures sound amazing. Is that the entirety of the concept behind Persistent World? Or is there more to it? Also, do you guys have any examples from other sites I could take a look at?
Gloom Kitty 12-08-2008, 07:24 AM Well that's basically it, an RPG like this is greatfor the fact that the players can also create plots. I've been part of many of these basically a small town was set up and the players got to it, they created plots more often then not there was more then one character to a player. A character might be killed off another would replace it. Hmm I'm not explaining this to well at the moment LOL. When Darkwakes up I'm sure he will
Mike Nemesis 12-08-2008, 08:07 AM Sounds interesting could be pretty epic! Theres no harm in trying one is there.
Teele 12-08-2008, 08:10 AM Nope. But if we do, I think I'd like to put it in a separate subforum (I'd have to talk to Mr. Senior Super Mod about that one) or maybe just specify in the title:
The Big Epic World Thing (Persistent World)
...Crystan would make an amazing persistent world........
:D
Mike Nemesis 12-08-2008, 08:49 AM Well its your storyline and you definatly have the back history set up and the interested parties. Sure no one would stop you from giving it a go. Would you start it from where you was thinking of kicking off the RP or would you go back to the beginning for it and work through the timeline?
Teele 12-08-2008, 09:16 AM Not totally sure either way. I think what I might do is run a few adventures the standard way, and then maybe transform it into a Persistent World. I'd need to think about it for a bit. :D
Raven 12-08-2008, 09:43 AM My creation of Third Earth is coming back. It was always intended to be continious. So theres one persistant world. more coming soon.
Darkthought 12-08-2008, 09:52 AM I know of a place that set up a really good persistent world rp. Just give me a moment and I will be back with an example and an entire "How to".
Raven 12-08-2008, 09:56 AM I first did Third Earth when I created the RPG section rules way back in 2006. But we only had a few members so I dropped it for a re-creation I was planning to revisit the world and launch it after Rybok's Rat Pack. I've since done a full world builder on the planet of Third Earth and focused more on the creation of the ongoing.
Teele 12-08-2008, 10:04 AM Sounds excellent, Raven! I'd get in on that action! :)
I'll definitely take a look at whatever you can grab, Dark!
Darkthought 12-08-2008, 10:12 AM Hm...well. Whatever site used to have either doesn't exist now or doesn't have the guide anymore.
If you guys want, I could write up a guide and send it to Teele sometime tonight once I get home from work.
Raven 12-08-2008, 11:00 AM Here are the first two attempts One (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=3076) and Two (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=5198) of Third Earth in RPG archives. Way back then they were very basic and nothing near the standard done with recent games. But then that said they were my first attempts at RPG games on a forum. Since then a lot has changed and we have far more actively playing RPG members.
I'll spend the next few days working something out. The game will probably consist of two or three threads One for profiles since its ongoing it will require a separate place one for Map and discussion and one for the game.
And it will probably require sharing GM time sop Teele since your a mod with various Powers you'll pretty much be an excellent choice. Anyhow Let me work on this through the week. If it proves a popular concept with everyone I'll launch it once created. Since it will be persistent there’s no point in queuing it.
Mike Nemesis 12-08-2008, 11:01 AM It may need a seperate thread to act as a summary for it to? If its on going obviously summaries would be brief but it probably wouldn't hurt to have a basic record of whats happened?
Look forward to been a new part of writing forum history lol good to see that the suggestion is been acted on so quickly!
Raven 12-08-2008, 11:06 AM Actually thats a good idea. So we'd certainly need four threads regarding this. Infact the Map could go in Summery at the starting post.
But, the idea of a Persistent World, where basically any player can come and go as they please, work at their own pace, and work with other players to create adventures sound amazing. Is that the entirety of the concept behind Persistent World?
That's the way I interpreted it. I think that it would be a great idea. Maybe we could have a thread where the story wouldn't have to be very developed or complicated but it would have an ongoing scenario where we can stick characters who are missing out on other games ;) Sort of like a Raven's Tavern for RPG characters where they can drop in and interact with others.
Foxee 12-08-2008, 11:18 AM I like the idea, especially as Jade presented it, but I think stories would evolve...that's what happens when you get characters together unless you want to be bored. ;)
Yeah, there would definitely be subplots and relationships between the characters but I was thinking like just a basic room where they can meet and talk... more like a way to practice playing them/develop them more.
Teele 12-08-2008, 11:26 AM :D :D :D
Love to see all the good ideas coming together so quickly.
And yup, Raven I would be happy to serve wherever necessary. In most RPGs I play I like having the freedom to mess around a little and play with some different angles...this sorta thing is the perfect opportunity for weirdos like me.
Mike Nemesis 12-08-2008, 11:36 AM Sort of like a Raven's Tavern for RPG characters where they can drop in and interact with others.
My god think of the bar brawls one character from 51 who thinks he's all that been a royal marine makes the mistake of annoying a player from the continent and the next thing he knows hes on fire. The rules of the world he knew have suddenly been defied :p
Raven 12-08-2008, 11:37 AM That's the way I interpreted it. I think that it would be a great idea. Now I like that.
What I'm going to do is spend the next week working on this. So any idea's keep them coming. I've already got Third Earth created as I said I did a world builder for this. I just never got around to re-starting it. But now I know everyones keen and interested I'll spend the week devising the concept . Especially to a Persistent world.
Teele 12-08-2008, 11:54 AM I might eventually wanna put up a Persistent World for Crystan as well. I'd set it probably a few years after the Upheaval, when everything's still in a bit of anarchy, governments are unstable, lots of ruins to explore, small skirmishes still happening, and all-around lots of adventure to be had. :D
This'd be distinct from the series I'll be building in RPG Standard Mode, which will deal with the Upheaval itself. ;)
My god think of the bar brawls one character from 51 who thinks he's all that been a royal marine makes the mistake of annoying a player from the continent and the next thing he knows hes on fire. The rules of the world he knew have suddenly been defied :p
Yup.. or a player from 51 or Rouge trying to explain to a player from the Continent what a mobile phone is. The possibilities are endless :D
Raven 12-08-2008, 11:59 AM Well I will launch the new Tavern tomorrow or later. It will mainly be linked to Third Earth.
Teele 12-08-2008, 11:59 AM LOL. That'd be a lot of fun.
Raven 12-08-2008, 12:01 PM I might eventually wanna put up a Persistent World for Crystan as well. I'd set it probably a few years after the Upheaval, when everything's still in a bit of anarchy, governments are unstable, lots of ruins to explore, small skirmishes still happening, and all-around lots of adventure to be had.
I would advise with Crystan you do two games before thinking in the persistant realm. I like what you've created with Crystan but I feel you need to introduce people to the world in a few stand off RPGs.
Teele 12-08-2008, 12:03 PM Definitely. This'll be a more long-term plan thing for sure. :D
Thanos 12-08-2008, 02:31 PM Hope this works. I had posted in here I wish there was a place called the Tavern.
http://z12.invisionfree.com/Reflection_of_Valor/index.php?showtopic=226&st=0
This is the place I use to post at sort of. We have moved from G4 Forums all around for the last 4 or 5 years. I am trying to get them to come to WF and RP here. Since we are trying to do the Persistent World thing. Which is where my friends and I started. Hopefully THAT TAVERN will be the Tavern here.
Mike Nemesis 12-08-2008, 04:44 PM Yep we need some more going on in the forums. Continent is going quiet for the week, 51 was halted and ancient legend never took off. So despite expecting to be busy RPing looks like i wont be haha.
Maybe i should work on my own RP idea or fiction or actually do some work for my upcoming exams :o god forbid lol
Thanos 12-08-2008, 04:47 PM Yes studying is forbidden -___- Don't do it.
Probably a great time to work on my RPG.
Mike Nemesis 12-08-2008, 04:54 PM oh just a minor note to Teele or Raven the current RPG thread has removed Choas Hour from future RPG's but not put it in Current saying its open for profiles.
Teele 12-08-2008, 04:57 PM LOL. I checked that too. Just didn't register...darn brain.
Fixing that now. :D
Shadow Dragon 12-08-2008, 06:49 PM I say, as a persistant world kinda game, we can just create a city. The City (tentative name) will be open to any character and will be set in the current time. Characters can interact, get jobs, run for office or do whatever they want. What do you guys think?
ZionsRodeVos 12-08-2008, 06:56 PM I like the idea of having an entire fantasy world to mess around in. The way it sounds too me we could each create our own cities on Third Earth and so could each help shape what the world would be like.
But, I'm sure at first there would be just one city developed.
Gloom Kitty 12-08-2008, 07:05 PM I say, as a persistant world kinda game, we can just create a city. The City (tentative name) will be open to any character and will be set in the current time. Characters can interact, get jobs, run for office or do whatever they want. What do you guys think?
I have a spare SCi-fi/fantasy city if anyone wants it Hope City it's called vampires demons and so on
Or we could start a thread in the discussion section and all put our heads together
Raven 12-08-2008, 07:12 PM First off I want to test Third Earth out first. We have lots of Sci Fi and stuff on those lines but we have lacked in Fantasy realm. And way back when I originally created Third Earth it proved popular even though the forum was low on members back then.
Both myself and Teele will be GMing the Third Earth World.
Now if its a hit I will open a thread called World Builder where you guys will totally create the new one. Then we will have Third Earth which will be fantasy and we can have a Sci Fi style one. But it will be after Xmas when I open the world builder thread for that. More details will come as we kick start this project.
Teele 12-08-2008, 07:15 PM LOL! Woo. We have a project. How cool is that? :D
Darkthought 12-08-2008, 07:17 PM Good. I've been missing the fantasy genre on this forum.
Gloom Kitty 12-08-2008, 07:22 PM ^_^ me too, but I like my combat based RPG's as well
Raven 12-08-2008, 07:32 PM Ah Gloom if memory serves me well you had a big part in Third Earth II:
We have lots of combat. Rybok opens on the 20th the prequel story to that game is almost finished well half way done.
I need to work a little on Third Earth and share the concept with Teele so he's 100% in the picture and I want to see the project done right so it's not going to be overnight but it will hopefully begin before xmas. I need to draw maps and upload the image. Well thats something I'll be talking through with Teele in the week.

If you want any extra hands which I doubt because Teele and yourself are super RPG makers, I'm about and free all through december and January
Leaka 12-08-2008, 08:53 PM Cool project idea.
:)
You guys will do great.
Shadow Dragon 12-09-2008, 08:42 PM You know, another world that would be good for persistant rpging is Foxee's game, Phoenix Colony.
Foxee 12-09-2008, 09:10 PM Hmm...depends on the characters and players, really. Once we got into the epiloguing it could easily have carried on that way.
Mousie 12-12-2008, 07:34 AM Pssst...hey...
Would anyone else be up for a "mass zombie outbreak" RPG?
Thanos 12-12-2008, 05:49 PM Omg what just happened to continent!?
CommonGoods 12-12-2008, 05:52 PM Was just wondering the same thing
Thanos 12-12-2008, 05:54 PM Oh my geez -faints-
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 06:07 PM I just saw it too ><
Shadow Dragon 12-12-2008, 06:08 PM Quick, someone make Teele or Raven get online and fix this.
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 06:08 PM I can't even find the discussion thread for it...
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 06:12 PM Darkthoughts RPG is missing too
Shadow Dragon 12-12-2008, 06:14 PM Le gasp! Someone is stealing our rpgs! Quick, light up the Cog signal. :p
Foxee 12-12-2008, 06:20 PM I want my RPG's! *cries*
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 06:23 PM Perhaps one of us should Inform Cogito?
Shadow Dragon 12-12-2008, 06:24 PM Holy crap, they're all gone!
Mike Nemesis 12-12-2008, 06:24 PM ok i get that the entire of the RPG forum has been wiped but why has only the continent discussion and none of theo ther discussions disappeared.
CommonGoods 12-12-2008, 06:24 PM *Dies of a heart attack*
Actualy, I'm just going to see if my dreams still like me. Let's hope it's all fixed when I come back tomorrow.
Thanos 12-12-2008, 06:24 PM Oh my dear lord who has PMed Raven and Cogito? I dont wanna flood there boxes
Foxee 12-12-2008, 06:25 PM *sigh* I'm abandoning my plan...we'll wait.
I think they're still in the process of going down.
Mike Nemesis 12-12-2008, 06:26 PM ok scrap that the entire discussion thread just disappeared lol
Shadow Dragon 12-12-2008, 06:27 PM *clings to the rpg ideas and general chat thread* We must protect our last bit of proof of their existence.
Thanos 12-12-2008, 06:28 PM Ok well guess cant leave this page or I wont be able to get back here
Mike Nemesis 12-12-2008, 06:29 PM stickied things seem safe although they may disappear in the next few minutes like everything else. Certianly didn't expect tihs when i came to check RP progress!
ah my post count has dropped by over 200 and im back to been a member!
Foxee had dropped by over a 1000 posts
Foxee 12-12-2008, 06:32 PM Problems loading just about any page and posting now...I'm sure the admins and mods have their hands full...or they will if they haven't noticed this yet.

ah my post count has dropped by over 200 and im back to been a member!
I just realized that our post counts have fallen! *cries* Mine was over three-thousand.
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 06:34 PM I just caught Raven, help is on the way
Foxee 12-12-2008, 06:35 PM They're disappearing from the reputation thingie, too. I had a rep point comment from Continent and now it just says 'N/A'. And I looked at the RP forum and all the current games are gone. They're all gone!
Crap. This is a humongous bummer.
ZionsRodeVos 12-12-2008, 06:35 PM And here I thought it was just the Continent and Continent discussion thread and then as I'm working on a reply to Exodus all the RPG's vanish.
And my post count has dropped too.
garmar69 12-12-2008, 06:36 PM Ok, I thought I was trippin' but there is something wrong. I was wanting to check out the New Earth thread but it's gone!
Foxee 12-12-2008, 06:37 PM I'm having RPG withdrawal. I guess I'll have to go crochet for a bit and be back.
*cheers Raven on*
Mike Nemesis 12-12-2008, 06:38 PM lets hope they have a good back up system
Shadow Dragon 12-12-2008, 06:41 PM Well since I'm half asleep, I'm going to go ahead and go to bed. Hopefully the rpgs will be back when I wake up. *crosses fingers that everything returns to normal in a little bit. I want be back in the three-thousand posts club darn it!*
EDIT: Zion, you just had to point that out and scare us, didn't you? :(
Thanos 12-12-2008, 06:41 PM I swear I will cry if I start to cease to exist.
I apologize my bad luck is spanning to you all.
ZionsRodeVos 12-12-2008, 06:45 PM And Shadow Dragon it appears my post about that vanished.
No I wasn't trying to scare anyone. If its happened its happened and if its not backed up then its not backed up.
Raven 12-12-2008, 06:51 PM Wow what a mess.
What you guys done to my rpg forum.
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 06:51 PM I put up a thread about this in the main area of discussion might be best to move any chat of this to that thread. As I mentioned before Raven is looking into it right now
Raven 12-12-2008, 07:29 PM Fixed.
Foxee 12-12-2008, 07:32 PM I still can't see Continent or Sanctuary II, though.
ZionsRodeVos 12-12-2008, 07:33 PM Me neither.
Raven 12-12-2008, 07:34 PM Sanctury II was requested to be placed back in queue by darkthought. Sadly continent has gone completely. If banzai had acted while he was online some of the other threads may have been saved but he didn't so sorry folks I was working completely alone.
freeflow 12-12-2008, 07:34 PM Well this stinks. I have pretty much no post. And Gloom I can't find the thread you made.

Thanks for trying. :/
Foxee 12-12-2008, 07:36 PM Holy CRAP...Continent is unrecoverable?
Dang it, dang it, dang it...thanks for trying.

My thoughts exactly, but in PG form...;)
But no,really thanks for trying. It must have been hard doing it by yourself.
Fluxhavok 12-12-2008, 07:38 PM aww weak... **cries**
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 07:40 PM Well this stinks. I have pretty much no post. And Gloom I can't find the thread you made.
It was deleted the message I needed to give got through and all is well now
ZionsRodeVos 12-12-2008, 07:45 PM Thanks for all you were able to recover, Raven! Things do happen sometimes.
Can't someone just create both threads again and everyone just start off from where we remember things were?
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 07:49 PM It's jades Story line so it may not be wise. However it would be interesting to see the same scenario as an ongoing RPG as long as people aren't ship bound all the time
freeflow 12-12-2008, 07:49 PM Someone should make the discussion thread again so we can talk about it there.
Raven 12-12-2008, 07:57 PM Not without Jades permission.
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 08:19 PM I've put up an rpg that's open to play if you're interested.
Gloom Kitty 12-12-2008, 11:13 PM Can anyone remind me how to do a spoiler in a post?

garmar69 12-12-2008, 11:55 PM Your welcome!
Teele 12-13-2008, 10:22 AM OMG!!!! I leave for a day and everything falls apart?!??!?!?! Whoa. That is totally whacked.
:p
Oy. I'm only here briefly this morning, but I'll likely be back this afternoon evening. Ugh. No more Continent....BLAST!!!
-breathes in, breathes out-
Okay. Well, yeah, might wanna wait for Jade to figure out what to do with that. I can remember pretty much where we left off from, but :p. Sucks.
Mike Nemesis 12-13-2008, 11:30 AM I have a copy of everyones character profile (except glooms) along with the character list and the first 3 continent herlad posts by teele which i can post up when Jade creates the main thread again.
CommonGoods 12-13-2008, 12:59 PM

Mike, you are amazing
freeflow 12-13-2008, 01:07 PM Mike you are a life saver! Maybe all RPG should back up all their stuff.
Foxee 12-13-2008, 01:11 PM If I kept all my RP stuff on my comp I don't think I'd have room for anything else!
I'm still having RP withdrawal anxiety. No other RP's have started yet and Exodus isn't doing anything. I need counseling. Or therapy. Or something.
Actually, I just need to go get some stuff done other than RPing but what fun is THAT?
freeflow 12-13-2008, 01:16 PM If I kept all my RP stuff on my comp I don't think I'd have room for anything else!

What about Garnet? :(
Foxee 12-13-2008, 02:10 PM We especially miss Garnet! :D I know what Freeflow means, these people are like real people now.
I can't wait for Jade to come back and see if she's willing to go on. If she reposts the premise of the game and we put up our profiles again, I think we can easily re-create where we were and go on from there. We'd only be missing the beginning of the game up to this point but we all pretty much know what happened so it would be ok.

The best way to do it might be to restart the game so that way everyone is there from the beginning. Plus, I can't say for sure, but I think there was a couple open spots. At least one that I know of.
CommonGoods 12-13-2008, 02:13 PM Well, Nomio was in bath, so that solves one problem :p
I think everyone knows where they ended up.
Foxee 12-13-2008, 02:19 PM There's no need to start over from the beginning. We all know where we were.

Alright, but we do have an empty spot to fill.
Foxee 12-13-2008, 02:31 PM I've no problem with that. New players are the spice of life if we can get them started off.
freeflow 12-13-2008, 02:39 PM Ha! Garnet is not included when it comes to Sera. :p
Thanos 12-13-2008, 02:55 PM damn is my post count low as hell now?
Mike Nemesis 12-13-2008, 02:59 PM whats the opened spot? I thought we lost Nikhil and replaced with Gloom. We can just kick off from where we left off. I'll post up what I have and then people can maybe just write a summary on their char so far if they feel the need?

Oh yeah, that's right. In that case, we can just start going from where we left off.
Foxee 12-13-2008, 03:07 PM LOL...we can always do a brief recap, too. I just watched the eight-minute recap at the beginning of the 4th season of LOST on the DVD and it's GREAT. We could easily do that.
freeflow 12-13-2008, 03:42 PM Hah like a big Teele update. He is great at those.
Foxee 12-13-2008, 03:43 PM Sure...he could do up until the beginning of yesterday, anyway...then you and he were both gone all day. At the same time. ;)
Thanos 12-13-2008, 04:03 PM Didn't Raven say to wait for Jade?
And I think Imma quit RPing for awhile
freeflow 12-13-2008, 04:10 PM Sorry about that! I waas in school, then I had this big dinner where my brother proposed to his girlfriend.
Shadow Dragon 12-13-2008, 04:15 PM Sorry about that! I waas in school, then I had this big dinner where my brother proposed to his girlfriend.
Congrats to your brother, well if she said yes anyways. :p
freeflow 12-13-2008, 04:51 PM Oh she did! But her only her uncle could speak english, so it was hard. Alot of translating had to be done.
Thanos 12-13-2008, 05:10 PM Yea Imma take a leave from the forums. Maybe be back when I see the greener grass.
Teele 12-13-2008, 05:12 PM Whew. Kay, guys, I'm back and I'll be kicking about for a little while it y'all are still around for a chat. Ugh. Soooo disappointed about losing Continent, but, if all parties are in agreement, I can set us going with a recap once Jade gives the okay to reset.
I think the way it went was Death's Touch's character Dawson was more or less replaced with Foxee's Gemina, and Windvern was replaced with Gloomy's Khatira. The original roster hasn't migrated since then.
Oh, and, DON'T DO IT THANOS! WE LOVE YOU!!!!
Shadow Dragon 12-13-2008, 05:15 PM Yea Imma take a leave from the forums. Maybe be back when I see the greener grass.
We'll miss you. I think I'm going to have to limit my rping to only two or three at a time. Otherwise, I won't get any of my own writing done.
Raven 12-13-2008, 06:55 PM Yea Imma take a leave from the forums. Maybe be back when I see the greener grass.
The grass is green here. sorry but you can't get any greener than green. ;) :p
Gloom Kitty 12-13-2008, 07:02 PM The grass is green here. sorry but you can't get any greener than green. ;) :p
It's so green ewven some of the people here are green LOL
Kratos 12-14-2008, 09:42 AM I'm thinking about starting a RPG sometime soon. But I really want to be prepared and stuff. If anyone wants to make one with me, like a co-op RPG, PM me. I have a few ideas, if anyone wants to hear them.
How about a RPG about the TV show Lost. Not a copy, but using the same premise?
Raven 12-14-2008, 02:01 PM Just to let you all know I have moved the Serious Issues thread into the Lounge. Since its spread from rpg now and everyone seems to be opening threads all over the place regarding the last 48 hours.
Anyhow its here (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=17071&page=7).
Mike Nemesis 12-15-2008, 05:35 AM Just to point out to Raven or Teele:
51 has been archived but 51 discussion and maps still aren't archived.
The Current RPG thread says it is halted but is has now stopped.
Outlaws and Relic Dolls aren't on the current list.
I'll leave you alone now :p
CommonGoods 12-15-2008, 06:52 AM Run Mike! The GOD-mod's are comming for you! :D
Teele 12-15-2008, 08:16 AM Fixed. :D
Raven 12-20-2008, 06:31 AM Third Earth has its own forum now.
Leaka 12-20-2008, 02:47 PM I was thinking, later of course, a 48hr RPG.
But not really 48hr, just the idea would be you have 48hrs.
And I would like to get it done as soon as possible kind of thing.
We try to finish an RPG in a week, if possible.
And it would be something like playing hide and seek with demons and every few hrs or so if you haven't found them they kill you.
Of course this is an idea and would only be experimented real later when I get some kinks out of it.
Didn't know if you guys like it either, though.
Teele 12-21-2008, 03:21 AM -climbs up out of hole, smoking keyboard in hand, breathing heavily-
Finally done! The first drafts of both
The New Players' Guide (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=16801)
and
The New Gamemasters' Guide (http://www.writingforums.org/showthread.php?t=16802)
are done. And I'm going to bed. Goodnight, cruel world!
PS: Leaka, I don't think an RPG that would last only a week would be extremely attractive. Generally, it takes me a week in an RPG just to get to the point where I remember who's who, and even get into my own character. And by the time I DO get into my own character, I'd like him/her to last a while, and see how they play out and what they do.
My opinion, anyway. :D

*rings giant bell and holds up Teele's hand* DING, DING the winner!!!
garmar69 12-21-2008, 03:57 PM I agree Teele, I'm just starting to get my brain wrapped around the players in Third Earth so far.

Because its a game of hide and seek with demons and for every hour that you don't find them they kill a member of the characters I think giving it a two week or week deadline would give you this urgency to save your character and find every demon before you die.
Or at least that would be my experiment.
Teele 12-25-2008, 10:22 AM -deep breath-
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
From your friendly neighborhood Mod Squad!
Have a good one, ladies and gents! :)
Mike Nemesis 12-25-2008, 05:14 PM nicely done, it even comes in festive colours ;) wow the forums have been dead not that im surprised lol
Teele 12-25-2008, 05:30 PM Yup. Today seems to be The Day of Real Life. :)
Mike Nemesis 12-25-2008, 05:39 PM family was ill 2nd yr in row so other family didn't visit. I swear they deliberatly time it that way *sigh*
Thanos 12-27-2008, 11:55 AM -strolls in and looks around at empty RPG area-
I'M BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
Actually I will make a real appearance back after the New Years rolls in but I hope all of you had a Happy Holidays. RL has been kickin my ass but I am slowly beginning a good roll. Slowly but surely so I decided to return. Hope I get a warm weclome back.
^.^
Teele 12-27-2008, 12:03 PM Welcome back, mate! It'll be great to have you on board once again. :D
Thanos 12-27-2008, 12:16 PM Seems as though things been a bit slow. Well, I shall change THAT.
Looks like a narrowly missed my death in the Continent. Sad poor poor Dingo.
Welcome back!
:o I wasn't expecting you to come back this soon Thanos, or I wouldn't have killed Dingo off. Yeah, it's a shame :( Although if you like you can make a new char and I will try to write you in?
And yeah, it's been a bit slow. Most of us are still under obligation to eat, drink and be merry in the real world. Speaking of which, supper number two has just been announced *puke*. Too much food :(
Foxee 12-27-2008, 04:45 PM Welcome back, Thanos.
My visiting and dinners are all over. It's my b-day and I'm here alone with two bickering kids. My big thrill today was going to get groceries.
Please, people, I NEED the rpgs! LOL
CommonGoods 12-27-2008, 05:21 PM @Thanos; welcome back, Dingo will be missed. Would say he died a hero's death, but I guess nothing heroic about getting shot in the head by an agitated pirate (blame Garnet)
@ Foxee: :D Should have told me earlier, or I could have thrown some of my plans your way, see what you think about them.
Who knows, if your still bored, I could send you the things I have been writing ;)
Leaka 12-27-2008, 05:24 PM Welcome back Thanos.
I'm glad you are back.
