What's up, peeps? May come across as odd seeing this is only my second post on this site but I would definitly be interested in running an AD&D 2nd edition game on your site.

If there are 3-5 people interested let me know. I can email my ideas to HullsRaven if there is enough interest. All I ask is that you be familiar with the rules and are a good, creative, visual poster.

Raven

Yeah no worries about that. If its after the 30th until my return can you all send your ideas to whispwillow. I've asked him to take over RPG in my abscence.

Although I know HR is gone, I'll put this up: I, too, have had an idea for an RPG. Here's a basic summary:

Year 2090. While a secret war between the Infernal Army (The demons on Hell's side) and the Celestial Army (The angels on Heaven's side) has been fought in the shadows for decades on Earth, most mortals are totally unaware. Meanwhile, Earth is essentially dominated by the monopoly company HIVER (the Hegemony's International Virtual Emulating Reality system) that uses virtual reality and other advanced computer tactics to dominate markets of merchandise, transportation, entertainment, business, etc. Governments have essentially just become mock-ups for companies that work under HIVER. However, when the unthinkable happens and the three computers that control HIVER break down (Due to something that has to do with the infernal war going on), mankind throws itself into a nigh-apocalyptic chaos.

When the virtual reality systems of the HIVER computers start to warp reality itself, things get worse in more ways than one: Not only do you get the expected catastrophes from the breaking down of the universe, but both the demons and the angels, recognizing the power they could have if they could control this reality-warping force, decide to bring their war out into the open on Earth in a desperate attempt to beat back the enemy once and for all and gain ultimate power. This adds a magical apocalypse on top of the dystopian one, and puts Earth in a Transformers/AvP situation (No matter who wins, we lose.) You could play as a mortal, angel, demon, etc.

I realize that was extremely long for a "basic summary", but it got the essentials across, so there we go. If proper interest is expressed, I'll send the full package off to WhispWillow to be posted.

Hey. I'll examine this when I get a chance and we can get something going on it, it looks good and the section has been quiet lately so new roleplay's won't do bad

Also: Another Roleplay that may start up is a HP one or Narnian soon.

would you like to start your rpg up Crazy Ivan?

No, cuz no one else wants to play, obviously.

then you need to draft in some interest. It sounds ok.

07-26-2007, 03:59 AM
Ivan draft up what you've done then pm a mod and we will take it from there.
Trouble is rpg has been quiet for some time now so we need fresh games to keep it active.

I also have an idea for a wing commander style game i will draft something out at the weekend.

And maybe aa new D&D style game.

Crazy Ivan

Y'know, I have a question: Why is it, exactly, that we have to send our RPGs through mods before they're approved? He never actually explained that. I understand that you might only want a few RPGs at a time...but in that case, why not just tell us not to put up more than a few RPGs at a time? (And besides...it's not like we have a heaping helping of them that are active.) Since a real, good, actual reason was never given...does anyone know how to explain this?

Night Haunter
07-26-2007, 08:27 AM
Because this is Ravens domain. he set it up wrote the rules guides etc.

Crazy Ivan
07-26-2007, 08:37 AM
Yeah, but...that's not really an explanation. =|
Sigh.
Oh, well.

Night Haunter

it will have to do for now. We have to respect his way at least in his abscence. He can only defend himself if he's here.

Also: Another Roleplay that may start up is a HP one [...]
Am I to assume you mean Harry Potter (best to sound like an idiot and ask, I mean, I'm pretty sure, but there could be some other HP)? Would that be us RPing as Hogwarts students or something? And would it be before or after the books (I mean, a group of non-Potters fighting Voldemort is just riddikulus (it's a pun, see?), but a group of ignorant little twits (as students usually are) finding yet another passage into a deep dark hidden part of the School, well, that's about as likely as someone spilling salt.) I have to say, I for one would be willing to play that one, we could all have are own patronuses and what a boggart would show us, and we could choose our own houses (or there could be a personality test, I don't know).

Man, I'm geekin' out just thinking about it...

Also, I too have perhaps a little idea for an RPG, but until I am more adept at them (as in, I've never actually done a forum RPG) I think I'll hold off. Especially since I've got some trimming down of the complicated things in my fictional world as it is.

EDIT: this was my 69th post, harhar!

WhispWillow

Ye it wouldn't be storyline. But it would be during Harry Potter period, e.g not Maurader times

So Dumbledore is Headmaster and all or something

I may start it up soon, where you are all students, so we will start off at Platform 9 and 3/4 and go from there!

I reckon if it was succesful it would be rather great!

Ok well this is going to sound a little silly really but how about having a nice simple one for those of us who are beginners at RPG on here.

So those who have not done it before can learn how it is done and get use to it then join in on with the others.

Just an idea so it can be less daunting for those who have never done it before and that way they don't annoy anyone for doing it wrong at all.

Banzai
08-17-2007, 09:55 AM
I agree with Torana, never having done anything like it myself :p It is a tad intimidating.

Kit

Agreed. I read all of these threads coz i'm interested, but never take part simply because it is so daunting and if there was something simpler i'd probably take part too.

Cogito

Think of an RPG as a variation on the group story idea. Except instead of writing chronological segments of the story, each "player" designs and develops a character. The GM constructs the plot framework and operational parameters.

Charisma

I guess you're right, Cogito.

i know this is going to sound soooo geeky, but i would love to see a RPG that was like Runescape. i am fasinated by medieval times with highway men and magical and mythical creatures and would love to see one based on that sort of thing. every, or most, RGP's that you see tend to be military or based in the future or space, which seems very boys toys thing. i would like to see something more available to everyone. just a suggestion anyways. :)

Kit

I think its a great suggestion to be honest, the military and space things - whilst I do read them - don't appeal to me and make me want to join in.

How about starting your own? :)

Heather Louise
08-18-2007, 06:44 AM

I'm not sure how many people have heard of the game Shadow of the Colossus, but I feel that might be a subject that appeals to a lot of people. In the game, there is a guy on a mission to revive his girl that has been sacrificed due to villagers believing she was cursed. He turns to the aid of an oracle that will only help if he slays 16 colossi.

This would allow for some mystical creatures, horse riding, sword fighting, and the slaying of previously mentioned beasts.

Does anyone know of the game Okami? that could be quite interesting too. It's about a wolf (actually a god) that tries to rid a village of evil using elemental attacks that are performed by a giant paint brush in the sky (which could be translated to a ritual of some kind).

World War Z
(Inspired by Max Brooks)

History
The Beginning

The first recorded case of the zombie virus occurs in China, with the mysterious 12-year-old Patient Zero. When interviewed, the infected boy's mother stated that they had been pearl fishing, and he and his father had dove under the water. There was some sort of struggle, and a few minutes later the boy came up crying and with a bite mark on his ankle. The father was never seen again. The infection took hold of the boy quickly, and after he had bitten five others, the Chinese government intervened, hiding them- but making a horrible mistake, releasing the infection on an unsuspecting world.
The plague spreads from China to much of Eastern Asia, due to the crowded living conditions, and after an infected stowaway successfully completes an intercontinental voyage by boat, South Africa becomes a hotbed for the disease. Soon it has spread up Africa, across England, into Asia, and is heading into America. Governments, when alerted of the threat of living dead, react poorly, dismissing it as not real or not important, or not educating the public. It has been hypothesized by historians that if only they were to give all the necessary information for survival to the unsuspecting public, the Great Panic could have been avoided. However, it was too late.

The Great Panic

The Great Panic, as most historians refer to it, was the period of worldwide, unbridled, mass hysteria once humanity came to grips with the reality of the problem facing them. It began truly when the disease and the "zombies" (As the public soon named the infected) started to overrun Europe and the Western Hemisphere. Refugees and illegal immigrants spread the infection as people fled their homes and brought the disease to new places. The undead began to outnumber the living in places like India and Africa. Because of the vast amount of denial in the USA, no American was really ready for the Great Invasion, when most of the undead started to walk. They weren't aware of the zombie threat until the undead were crashing through their suburban living room windows and going for their throats.
Vast pilgrimages began from everywhere to anywhere, people more desperate to get away from then to get to. Thus, this was the quickest and most common period of infection.
Many in North America attempted to migrate to northern Canada. However, no planned exodus was organized, other than news channels urging viewers to "Go North!". Many people who reached northern Canada were unprepared to camp there, and supplies ran low. Cannibalism occurred in several areas. Many had not expected the zombie crisis to last long when they left in mid-summer, and when the next winter hit (the worst on record, because of all of the particulate matter in the air from the fires of burning cities) large numbers were not prepared. An estimated 11 million people froze to death that first winter in North America alone.
The peak of the Great Panic was the Battle Of Yonkers, where the U.S. military suffered a tremendous defeat in a highly televised battle against millions of zombies in Yonkers, New York, due to poor military planning. The catastrophe had devastating consequences for the morale of the public, and marked the end of a coherent American response for some time. Less than two weeks after Yonkers, the eastern United States were abandoned in a massive retreat by the military to establish a new defensive line at the Rocky Mountains.

Turning the Tide

This is where we join in. Of course, the entire history of the zombie war could be listed, but we are going to start halfway and learn things as we go along. This is the time when humanity starts to get a grip on sensibility and how to fight the undead threat. This is the time when defensive lines and survival plans were put out worldwide. This is the time when the Redeker Plan is introduced. This is the time of change.
This is our time.

Concepts of the Zombie War

Zombies

Zombie. Undead. Living dead. Zack. Zedheads. All nicknames or official names given by humanity to these strange beings.
The Zombie Infection, which started in China and quickly spread, is an incurable, highly infectious disease. When infected, a person feels no ill effects for several days until they suddenly drop dead, wherever they are and whatever they are doing. Investigations by medical experts have proved that during this time, the zombies are technically, and by all definitions, dead. Several hours later, they "reanimate" as walking dead, animated corpses with one goal only, to consume animal flesh and spread the infection.
A zombie can be killed one way, and one way only, and that way is by destroying their brain. To rip off a zombie's limbs won't deter it in the least. Presented with loss of legs, it will fall to the ground and use its arms to drag itself along in search of feet or animals on the ground. This often made them more dangerous when visibility in low areas was dangerous, like in tall grass or rubble. To rip off its arms means it will rely more heavily on its gnashing teeth, and to rip of its head means its torso will fall lifeless, but the head will continue to roll around, bloodthirsty and an ultimately creepy sight. A zombie can survive the pressure of the entire ocean, as it has been known to walk across the sea floor simply to reach the nearest land and find more victims. A zombie can survive the freezing of all its cells and unfreezing, which is inevitably accompanied with the explosion and rupturing of their blood cells. (Zombies don't really have blood, just a signature viscous black goo.) Admittedly, when a zombie freezes, it can not move until the thaw (Which is why so many people ran north in the Great Panic), but once the Spring does hit, they're fully functioning. The bottom line is: A zombie can not be killed unless the brain is taken apart, be it by gunshot, bludgeoning, or cleaving.
Zombies, however, lack many elementary skills. They do not think beyond finding and eating. They can not run, climb, strategize, stop their quest for sustenance, or feel any any any any any emotion whatsoever, a fact which confounded many humans desperate to find some sort of connection in these inhuman monsters, or to the military, who could not use the tactic of fear that they would have been able to use in any other war with humanity.

Other threats

There were other threats than zombies in World War Z. "Quislings" were humans who acted like zombies, hoping to fool the undead into thinking they were one of their brethren. Of course, this failed miserably, but the quislings soon convinced themselves that they too were zombies, suffering from an abnormally serious version of Stockholm Syndrome that ultimately pervaded and perverted the identity. The "quislings", while not spreaders of the zombie infection and easy to kill by means other than brain damage, are dangerous because like zombies they feel no emotion about killing humans, and bite anyone they see.
Feral children were very young human children who lost their parents during the zombie war and grew up by themselves, uncivilized beast-children who, in order to survive the zombie outbreak, always went with the "fight" of their flight and fight reflexes, even when presented with humans trying to help. This happened with animals, too.
There were also the SSers (Sole Survivalists, or LAMOES, as the army named them- standing for "Last Man On Earth Syndrome,") who tended to live by their own in their hometowns, believing they were the only people who had survived the zombie war and that all other humans were zombie threats, having deluded themselves into thinking the world, as it were, centered around them. When military forces searching for survivors entered towns populated by the SSers, they were often killed in booby traps lade down by the paranoid survivors, or attacked by the survivors themselves.

As the game and the war goes on, more info will be given about subjects such as the Redeker Plan and its counterparts (The strategy that provided hope for humanity- at a terrible price), the Lobo and other weapons, and the states of various countries as you travel through them. As you fight zombies, be it as a civilian, a military official, or some other class, you will travel across the world and see how everything, from the Northern Circle to Los Angeles, from the castles of Europe to the high rises of Japan, from the submarines of the ocean to the International Space Station, have been affected by the virus, with up-to-the-minute news on the war and ideas from the war being presented in the form of GM-given dispatches. For total in-depth knowledge (Or, to be absolutely honest, a really great read), read the book World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War by Max Brooks, available at your local library or bookstore.

So.
There's a zombie RPG for you.
Yeah.

I was thinking about that too... perhaps we could use a bit more influence from the Raven of Hulls? maybe talk with each other before something is actually posted?

Cogito
08-21-2007, 11:21 AM
He settled it. Everything is back on track.

Raven
08-21-2007, 11:32 AM
Basically if we begin to stay in com link but move into seperate areas. that should help avoid the problem. ;)

Remember the red writing.

I officially declare on behalf of all the members that joined the Spacestation RPG, that Hulls Raven is EVIL and wants us all to DIE!

*hides*

Raven
08-23-2007, 06:32 AM
To those that will be getting killed off. Two of you will be surviving. But as yet that is undecided.

I am currently putting a sequel game together since this one is so much fun. The two charactors that survive i hope to see in the second game. To those who die. You will have the chance to hopefully create new charactors for the sequel.

However the fates for the Rat Pack are very much undecided. You will recieve a PM from a mod when its time to die. It will not be me or Cogito since we are playing the game.

However we have time yet and some more double crossing to continue with. I see Banzai has already planned something with OPs. And I certainly think Jared has plans in his old sleeve.

Its great that the game is really good and constructive with everyones involvement. ;)

Thoughts?

Inter-character battles should be moderated or even written by the GM, once it's clear they are taking place. Also, the GM can always override the result of any battle or action.

I meant a system that would actually allow the armor to account for something. Like in a... what do you call it? Right, an RPG.

Torana
08-23-2007, 10:28 AM
Hey I liked how this one went to be honest. A few of us are beginners adamant and considering i think it went ok.

I liked how I got to do myself in sort of lol made it a tad different you have to admit. Don't take it so seriously cause it is meant for fun ok.

We don't want to lose the priviledge of having the rpg's so lets all just have fun with it. I wanted my character to survive as much as the rest of you but then came the opportunity to die heroically and it was fun to invent my own death in the end.

adamant
08-23-2007, 10:34 AM
I've never done this either... but I feel it would be more interesting if there were battles and such like I've stated. Why let our faith be decided by someone else without a chance to fight it? (I'm so American)

You can still die in other ways, but someone else shouldn't just be like "Oh, I shot him in the face. Game over."

Torana
08-23-2007, 10:43 AM
I can see your point there adamant. I think Raven is also working on that a bit more as well so that murders and so forth are structured into it this time around.

Just let him sort it ou tand we will see how it goes ok. We will all improve over time and so will the games.

Cogito
08-23-2007, 11:11 AM
I know what you mean about the armor. I'd be wary about too rigid a system for rating armor and weapons though. We're all writers, with the imagination to add our own description - with the GM's ultimate override ability of course.

Keep in mind that a "real" RPG requires a LOT of development. Live RPGs require the GM to anticipate scenarios and have prepared means to resolve them (as well as the flexibility to deal with innovation by the players), and automated RPGs require lots of coding, and out of necessity they limit the play options.

adamant
08-23-2007, 11:15 AM
Perhaps we could find a template of sorts? Though I just wanted it so that there would actually be some scale of difficulty. In one scene a person could just slice through a Xenos, and the next, they were almost killed. Whatever floats the boat I guess...

Cogito
08-23-2007, 11:43 AM
That kind of consistency issue falls clearly in the GM's court.

adamant
08-23-2007, 11:48 AM
If we were just given something like a hit point and damage system, I think it should take care of it. Then the participants would know what they could take on and what they'd need help on. There would still be room for improvisation -- the number of creatures, new species, desperation moves, team attacks, running away, ambushes, etc.

Also, we could make turn-based battles the norm for PvP fights.

Raven

Something I was thinking also as for pistols taking xenos (Aliens) out in one shot is a no goer.

when creating your new profiles think hard about the weapons you will be using. And the speed in which you can move. eg heavy wepons will limit your movement from running.

Another suggestion - when an RPG thread is created, what about adding a commentary thread for it as well, so people can discuss peripheral aspects of the game that don't belong in the actual gameplay thread. That way, we won't be flooding the suggestions thread.

I'm NOT recommending it for trash-talking ("I'm gonna WASTE you alll suckas!"), even though a small amount of that is in good fun, but more along the lines of "I thought this twist was kind of interesting, but wouldn't Slazo have simply stuck a blade in the clerk and moved on?".

That way, the GM also has a running idea of what the players liked most and what might have been done better.

Heather Louise
08-23-2007, 01:28 PM
("I'm gonna WASTE you alll suckas!") that nearly made my choke on my vrumble :p

and i am sorry guys but this seems ot be getting very complicated. although having order and stuff is good, you don't want to put peole off playing 'cos it is all too confusing. i think keep it fairly simple, after all it is just a game for a laugh, noting serious.

Night haunter will be GM.

The game will also have rules for killing each other off should the event happen. i.e GM has final dicission. And it will not be as simple as Fred shot Terry in the head. he fell down dead. The other members charactor will reply in self defence.

It does have a lot of politics though. And war, diplomacy, intrigue, lies, truths that won't be believed, magic, gun powder, and an elephant.

Ok. So I have this big idea that I've been working on for ages, and its probably a bit intimidating and all, and I'm not sure how I should go about presenting it...
Seeing as its pretty, well, huge, I was wondering if I should just PM everything I have to Raven, or if I should... I dunno.
I've got a lot, though. Its a pretty big idea for an online role play.

Cogito
10-24-2007, 02:02 PM
I'd keep in mind that this is primarily a writing site rather than a gaming site, so if the scenario or rules of engagement are too complicated, it probably won't get off the ground here.

People come and go, and get bound up in outside responsibilities, so keeping a group active over the course of a campaign gets complicated.

Still, there's nothing wrong with putting the idea out here and seeing if it generates enough interest. And even if it turns out to be too much to run with here, it may still be great for a gaming site.

Candice Dionysus
10-24-2007, 02:14 PM
Oh, heh... Um, no, if its too much trouble I'll just try it somewhere else. I mean, I know this is a writing site, but a lot of the writers I know also love to role play as well... And I just thought... I dunno. It doesn't matter.

Heather Louise
10-24-2007, 02:15 PM
it won't be too much trouble to suggest it Candice. suggest it to however runs the RPG's (i tihnk Ravens) and see what he thinks. or tell us a bit about it,, see if anyone would be interested. :D

Candice Dionysus
10-24-2007, 02:19 PM
Would I just post here to tell you guys what its about? [shrugs] I dunno, I mean, I'd love it if there would be people who were interested in my role play. I just have no idea how to work things over here. Its nothing like Gaia (which I don't really feel would be a good environment for my story).

Heather Louise
10-24-2007, 02:21 PM
i've never heard of Gaia, is that another writing site? and just post a big about it here i guess,, or make a new thread starting it up for yaself. i don't see why all PRG's have to be screened through Hulls, if there is a problem he will tell ya. just post it up i guess and see if people are interested.

Crazy Ivan
10-24-2007, 02:24 PM
Just run the idea by here, and we could give suggestions...

Also: How long does it take for an RPG to get posted up, usually? I sent mine a few days ago, and I know Hulls has been on here plenty of times recently...does it really take that long to copy and paste some text, or am I missing a step? ('s probably me...)

Heather Louise
10-24-2007, 02:25 PM
i don't know Ivan,, just go ahead and post it yourself if ya want, what's the probs in doing that?? i bet Raven's is just a bit busy or has forgotten

Noo... Gaiaonline.com is a giant anime and role playing forum, but there are so many... illiterate people who think they can type, and its just... I mean, I don't even like anime anymore.

Ehhh... I'd rather not just do it, since it seems he must have a reason for screening them...
I can post the basic storyline and such here, I guess.

Introduction

Welcome to Sarda: Darkness Rising. This roleplay is currently looking for 7 members. We are currently not open, as we are awaiting characters/members.

For those of you who are a member of the roleplay, feel free to give me plot ideas, or point out things that don't make sense, and help me shape and refine this plot.
Anyone else, feel free to watch us as we go, but plese don't post.

Below you will find all the relevant information, and the links to match. All the material is copyright to Candice Wozniak, 2003 - 2007, and is not for commercial use, in part or in whole, except within this roleplay.

Thank you, and lets move on.

Explanations

This RP takes place in a world that I created. This world exists in a series of stories called UnNamed (book one (http://www.fictionpress.com/s/1756809/1/) is fully complete, but I'm in the middle of rewriting it).

The main story of this RP takes place on the Sarda Islands (In Erve. Sarda is the Faerie letter S) and is based around those kingdoms. Though it may spill over onto surrounding islands at times.

For this RP, I'll accept 7 people (each member can have two characters), under a must be literate (that means proper punctuation, use capitals at the proper places, and so on... Basically, type like I do) requirement. The formatting will be done in Story Book Format, which means actions are typed out, and speaking is in quotation marks (also, thinking is done in italics), as such:

Anna-ko has been wandering the America's for at least three months now, trying to make her way to the Tower, but not able to find the Beam on which she would need to travel. She has a strong feeling that the Beam has been destroyed, but feels it her duty to get to the Tower, just the same, and stop the other Beams from being destroyed. In and out of In-World, and back and forth between the Territorries (which have overlapped In World, to a degree), she hasn't had much luck with getting informtaion.
She works alone, but has a feeling that she's not going to be able to do this alone. It causes her a feeling of unease. But if she needs a Ka-tet, then Ka will bring her to it.

Tommy sighed, as he packed up some clothing, and various special knickknacks. Richard would follow him to the ends of the Earth to protect him. Tommy thought that was spectacular, but he didn't want his best friend to get hurt because of him. Richie couldn't speak, but he was one hell of a telepath, and communicating with his mind was easy as pie. He wouldn't read your thoughts if he didn't have to, but he was also deaf, and so sometimes he didn't have a choice. Tommy thought that Richie knew how much finding 'The Tower' meant to him, and was willing to sacrifice everything in order for Tommy to find it. Richie probably wanted to get there, himself, just to see why it was so magnetic to Tommy. Tommy was sure that after a while, Richie would be just as drawn to The Dark Tower as he was, himself. He wanted to climb it, and know it well.
His thoughts were distracted by a knock on the door.
Richard was packing his own things, oblivious to the world, getting ready to travel again. He had been on the road longer than Tommy had, so he would be a great help to Tommy. He might be, at times, a hinderance as well, due to his status as a Deaf-Mute, but he had an ability that was like nothing most people had ever dealt with. His telepathy was on a grand scale, he could comunicate through the mind. He could also control people with his mind, if he had to get out of a bad situation. He hardly ever had to do this, but it did come in handy.
Because he was deaf, he did not hear the knock on the apartment door, or Tommy calling "Just a moment!" and making his way over to the door. He kept packing his knapsack.

She's been thinking and thinking about the world she'd encountered not two weeks ago. It had been taken by something called "Captain Trips", which she'd assumed was some kind of respriatory disease. She wasn't far off on that account, finding out not long after that it had been a kind of Super Flu. Anna got out of that world as soon as she could, finding a hidden highway with her magic. Whatever it had really, truly been, she didn't want to risk catching it. She couldn't afford to get sick.
She wondered, however, as she was riding into Illinois on a motorcycle, if maybe she, too, had an immunity to the virus. The two people she'd encountered both said that it was possible to be immune, and wondered how she hadn't known anything about it. What had their names been? Frannie and Stu, she thought, but she couldn't be sure, it was slightly jumbled in her mind, with the rest of the last three months.
But it was getting late, now. She should park the bike, and get some rest. She needed to locate a hidden highway. She chanted her spell, and found one in Salem, well, she'd have to speed, but she could get there by around twelve thirty. Then she could get something to eat, and get some rest.

Tommy opened the door to the apartment he shared with Richie, and smiled cautiously. He had never seen this man before, and he looked to be at the very least around sixtey. His hair was going white.
"Hello..." Tommy said.
The stranger simply placed his hand on Tommy's forehead. Tommy went to pull back, but was paralyzed for a moment. The stranger sent him a jumble of mental images, ending in a field of blood red roses, surounding the Tower that Tommy was going to find. Tommy cried out, as a zing of heat went through his mind. He knew, all too suddenly, that this man was a breaker, but he didn't want to be. He knew that this man meant to help him, but not by coming with him. He knew the man's name was Ted, and his history, and who was after him. He knew to look for kite tails hanging from telephone wires, and stars, comets, and crescent moons next to hopscotch grids, and strange pet posters, and upside-down or crooked advertisements, in order to find the Low men. He knew everything, but hardly understood it at all. By the time he understood even half of what had just happened, the man had bent over, spoken two words, and left as if nothing had happened at all.
Richie heard a mental cry from Tommy, dropped what he was doing, and ran to the front door. It was open, and Tommy was on the ground, muttering things Richie couldn't hear. He could hear the thoughts, though. Ted Braughtigan... Low Men... Kite Tails... Hopscotch grids with comets, stars, and crescent moons... Lost pet posters... Yellow coats... Cars that aren't cars, but seem alive... None of it made sense to Richie, but he knew it would by the end. He picked Tommy up, no mean feat, considering how strong he is, and how light Tommy is, and took him to the couch. He laid him down, and petted his hair until Tommy came to. Then everything was explained, and Richie understood.

A full blown explanation can be found here (http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2034322/1/), regarding the Sarda Islands. Make sure you read it before you join the RP.

A brief explanation is this:
Basically, you can be a Sarda native, which means you can be of the dark-skinned, and usually light haired and fair-faced Kallan (kay-lahn) people;
the tall, light skinned, deep eyed, and somber faced Tornian (tore-nee-ahn) people;
the people of Isida (Ee-see-dah), who are dark as Kallan's, light as Tornian's, or somewhere in between, depending on the season they were born in (Summer is darkest, Autumn is light, Winter is lightest, and Spring is fairly tanned);
Kordan's (core-dahn), who are the same as those born in Autumn on Isida, and dark haired, with bright, knowing eyes from birth;
the fair-skinned and secretive people of Farna (fair-nah), of whom little is known, and less is seen;
the veiled and hooded Snoroan's (Snow-row-ahns), whom shun outsiders;
the Spallan's (spay-lahns), who do not allow any outsiders on their islands, unless that outsider knowns someone (which is really rare);
the light skinned, and dark haired, fair faced, and kind Carsan's (cahr-sahns);
the Sparan's (spare-ahns), who are wise, but small folk, who tend to be about the same skin tone as those Isidan's born in Spring, light hair, and bright, knowing eyes, from birth;
the Chas (chase) people, who are the opposite of the Isidan's (Summer is lightest, Autumn is dark, Winter is darkest, and Spring is light);
the people of Trisa (tree-za), who are everywhere from Kalla to Chas, and live in the four cities of Chis, Chan, Maina, and Kaieve (cheese, cha-un, may-nah, and ka-ee-v);

Elve's;
Fae;
Anthro-Demons;
Humans;
Vampires;
or Witches/Magicians.

Asaris:
Asaris are small, delicate Water-fae folk. They cannot enter sunlight, and therefore they only come out at night.
They have slightly serious natures, but tend to show that in a way where they don't seem serious at all. They are good friends with Dusk faeries.
The reason they cannot come out in sunlight, is because they will melt into a pool of water. The same happens when they are captured.

Banshee:
Banshee literally means "Woman Fairy".
When Banshee's wail, its is the foretelling of a death in the family they have attached them self to. If several Banshee's wail at once, it means a great holy person is passing over into death.
The Banshee's hair is long, and they dress in green and gray. Their eyes are red from weeping.

Brownies:
Brownies are small, shaggy-haired faeries who dress in brown, and do housework in return for a bowl of cream and cake.
You can get rid of them by giving them clothing, or a reward,
They like to be helpful, and do chores, but sometimes, if you neglect to give them cream and cake, they will become upset, and not work at all.

Coblynau:
Generally very ugly creatures, they like to dress as mine-workers. When mine-workers are working, the Coblynau protect them from dangers.
Kind-hearted and friendly, these creatures are frightening only in appearance. They never hurt people unless a mine-worker is in danger by another person.

Dryads:
Dryads are friendly tree-folk. Tall, and wispy, they are often mistaken for "Tree Spirits", but are simply a type of Fae Sprite that likes to live in trees. Often times, they are the life-force of the tree, however, and that is how they are mistaken.
Dryads are kind-hearted, and beautiful. They will help you out of the forest if you are lost, or help you find someone who is lost in the forest.

Ellyllon:
Ellyllon are tiny Welsh and Cornish faeries who love toadstools and faerie butter.
They tend to live near and under lakes, and are generally associated with The Lady of the Lake, whom cast upon Arthur the mighty Excalibur.
They are fun-loving, and cute.

Faeries:
Faeries in general are all air-based creatures. They do attach to other elements, but are still air element creatures.
They live in forests, near streams or brooks, lakes, and so on, and very in size from tiny, to human sized. Some look like children, others like adults, and some in between.
They love to play games, but are generally serious.

Plot

The Islands natives are all becoming restless. More and more often they are coming from their smaller islands to the main land, arguing armonst themselves, buying, and often times looking just plain scared.
The people in the market are worried that the Islanders, some of whom are more reclusive, and hate being seen, know something they don't. And that it might be really bad.
Coriander, a navy-gray Wolf-demon who lives in the forest to the Southwest of the city of Chis, can smell something nasty brewing in the winds. He, and his wife, a feline demon named Harle, have begun to suspect something quite terrible will happen.
Meanwhile there have been more and more political visits from the continent of Hundr Buma, to the west. The Queen has been coming from the Royale Mega Cities. The nature of these visits is unknown, but she's been spending a lot of time in the city of Chan.
Why would Queen Hegunini be spending so much time out of her own country when the feeling's all around are those of darkness and forboding? Whats going on in the Sarda Islands?
A group of people must overcome racial and religious barriers, and try to find out what is going on.

All RPGs must be PM'd to me first.

Only I and Daniel have access to post new threads in the RPG forum. Anyone attempting to post will need moderation clearance first. or the post will just fail to be posted without Mod approval.

Plus Sometimes it takes time before I reply regarding RPG game PMs because I get a lot of PMs everytime I log in. and RPG PMs are usually big PMs to read. So sorry folks It could take time.

However I always reply to PMs so regarding RPG you will just have to be Patient.

Ok Raven is away at the moment and I have noticed that the RPG's haven't been posted in for a week now.

Come on people I know that Raven got these started and generally runs them, but if we want to be a part of all of this we have to lend a helping hand or everything will come to a grinding halt once more.

Stop leaving everything up to the mods and poor Raven and start doing things for yourselves. (I know that sounds harsh but there are plenty of members here and we are all more than capable of keeping things going while a few other members are absent)

It would be a real shame for all of Hulls Raven's work to get the RPG's like everyone wanted up and running and for us to bring them to a grinding halt and not used again. So lets get this back into action and start using the RPG forum again.
