Here is a link to Jim Butcher's LiveJournal (http://jimbutcher.livejournal.com/), he gives some good insight to sequels and scenes, the very essence of any story. The breakdown allows you to judge your own writing, and perhaps improve.
Sequels: Emotional Reaction > Review, Logic, Reason > Anticipation > Choice
Scenes: POV > Goal > Conflict > Setback
To find both of these sections quicker, just type either: 'SEQUELS' or 'SCENES'. Make sure that it's all capital letters and that the search feature (CTRL+F) has 'Match Case' selected.
