Basically, I write a haiku, and the next person to reply takes a word from my haiku and writes his or hers own haiku. Then, another person comes along and does the same for the person that replied the me. And on it goes.
And so! I present to you, the beginning haiku:

As the thread begins
I craft a beautiful work
Of boredom and beer.

Dark craft threads its way
night conceals illicit work
along ink black canals

Canals of venice -
Made of romantic beauty:
Fashionable? Love.

The love of a Cat
Goes not by the heart, but by
His groaning stomach.

(I've never written one before =P I have no idea if I did this right.)

Heart-beat breaks silence,
Fluttering like butterflies,
Signs of one in love

Prowling predator
Gleaming bright all-seeing eyes
Cat runs down her prey

Down 'neath the bridges
Where night hides, devious deals
Made in spite and hate.

A world torn in two,
Hate and bigotry confuse.
Where has the love gone?

winding round and round
a little top to confuse
playful toy to use

The playful kitten.
A bundle of fur and purrs,
A glorious gift.

a gift given free
full of love wrapped within gold
silver ribbon too

A hug wrapped with love
A kiss to take the pain from
Amidst her broke heart.

(rofl, I fail.)

love lost over time
long forgotten was the kiss
and the lover's touch

On the wings of Chronos
Lonely stranger sets things right
Final Lord of Time

Stranger in the house.
A father she wouldn't know.
Nor would he know her.

Hrm. I need to get better at this or suffer more embarrassment.

Lord of greivous thoughts:
Happiness breaks the hand that
Feeds? Rather, poisons?

Poison: hidden in
a chocolate, wrapped in foil
of love it will spoil

Spoil! Ha, spoiled brat,
With liqeur and cigarretes
Dancing on your breath...

Dancing tear of flame
Clinging to a fragile wick
Candle in a draft

Dancing in the rain.
The insanity of it.
The pure extacy.

Salty rain of tears
Needless violence stole life
Empty stands a home

a child's lost toy boat

Haiku's are hard when your not experienced. Keep practiving though.

Rain might spoil the mood
Of this drunken masquerade:
"Please, may we share beds?"

Thunder crashes last

A war fought bravely
One last watery drenched soul
Oh summer days!

My hands are idle
Spilling their love's illusion

Behind brittle mask
Walk the stage, recite the lines
Illusion of life

life is a pathway
leading unto our own ends
death's the newest road

Fogbound road of time
past recalled but lost from view
future lies in mist

Mist enshrouds the sea
Compass, undecided, twists
Where to point my prow?

Love twists my insides
Always hopelessly needing
Confused, I hate it

It is a shame how
Needing to sleep can hinder
Life experience.

Hurricane of time
Howling 'round the Universe
Life is but a sneeze

during hurricanes
wind whips around everyone
waves take them away

Waves swell and recede
Cold brine washes over sand
Footprints disappear

been buried by love
a cold heart is a dead heart
killing loneliness

Dusty tomes of epic poems
Echo in my head

Dusty Memories
Photographs of family.
Long lost, but still loved.

Lost in the shifting
Water crashing, sand sifting
World rearranging.

The Gift of foresight
Never putting a foot wrong
Who has it? No-one!
