Congratulations, Night Haunter, I see you've added a splash of magenta to your wardrobe. I have no doubt you'll be an excellent moderator.

Kit, you have nothing to apologize for. No one can be on call 100% of the time. When you were online one of the few times I needed to contact a moderator, you acted decisively and discretely. Thank you for that.

Kit
07-26-2007, 07:18 AM
Oh yeah... I did quite like my friend the jacket.... and the padded room... it was so much fun to throw myself at the bouncy walls.

But... it was soooo boring I had to colour everything in to lighten things up :D White is just soooo... plain :O

Thanks :) You're welcome...

I'm also glad that you like our magenta wardrobe... Torana actually had the audacity to call it pink.... hmmm she does seem to have pink on her mind rather a lot recently... anyone else think so too?

Crazy Ivan
07-26-2007, 07:52 AM
Hmm....either the successful progress of this forum as compared to its proportion of mods and their shifting positions...

...or chalupas.

I'm pretty sure it was the chalupas. Yeah, that's it. We were talking about those.

WhispWillow
07-26-2007, 08:37 AM
Then there's the classic one, roasting ocer the fire under a stick. Never done that before I don't think.

Crazy Ivan
07-26-2007, 08:38 AM
Hey, put a marshmellow in a microwave and they grow bigger. They also go all gooey.

It's fun to do that with Peeps. You take two Peeps, stick a toothpick in each one's chest, set them up facing each other, and put them in the microwave. Then, when they start to get all big and gooey, the toothpicks are pushed towards each other, until one punctures the other and-
BAM!
>=D

Banzai
07-26-2007, 08:48 AM

Crazy Ivan
07-26-2007, 09:26 AM
Hey, whatchu gottagainst clouds?

You know what would be cool? If clouds were, like, solid and bouncy and stuff and you could drop out of airplanes and walk around on them and whatnot. YES!

Banzai
07-26-2007, 09:33 AM
That would stop so many aeroplane disasters Ivan...

Heather Louise
07-26-2007, 09:34 AM
nothin is wrong with clouds, they just don't taste very nice

SeaBreeze
07-26-2007, 09:36 AM
I used to like having them on a stick or a skewer and holding them over a bbq fire. I only browned mine. My friend totally blackened hers.

SeaBreeze

My brother and I used to say that god was weeing. that's why it rained and when there was thunder, God was moving furniture around.

Heather Louise
07-26-2007, 10:03 AM
not the first one, nope.

Heather Louise
07-26-2007, 10:03 AM
yeaa, we used to say that rain was God's tears, and when God was really angry he made thunder as he was banging around. lightening was when he stuck his finger in the socket. :p

SeaBreeze

hmmm are we losing brownie points here?

Torana
07-26-2007, 10:09 AM
now that is all hilarious I think.

I wastold when there was thunder it was cause he was banging naughty kids over the head with a frying pan! I was too scared to misbehave for a long time lol

Heather Louise
07-26-2007, 10:10 AM
yeaa, that was another one, farting God. and when it was really sunny he had the light turned on upstairs. my Grandparents (who happen to beleive in God) hated it when i used to tell them of my ideas about the weather :p

Crazy Ivan
07-26-2007, 10:11 AM
Yeah. Maybe when the wind is blowing, God is farting.

Banzai
07-28-2007, 07:52 AM

Crazy Ivan
07-28-2007, 08:20 AM
I, for one, am quite addicted to life. I got hooked on it at a very young age, and now I can't stop doing it- it's like breathing to me. =O

ALTERNATE: I've had a lifetime's worth of experience at not dying.

SeaBreeze
07-28-2007, 09:15 AM
Ooooh, what's your secret?

Crazy Ivan
07-28-2007, 09:55 AM
Ooooh, what's your secret?

So an old man told his grandson, "Kid, the secret to a long and healthy life is a sprinkling of gunpowder on your breakfast every day, any day, without fail. You'll live farther and better than anyone else."
The boy took this advice to heart, and every morning, on his breakfast cereal or his pancakes or whatever he was eating, he would sprinkle some gunpowder before eating his meal. He was rarely ever sick, even when he grew old, and he got to live to be 102 and live to see his great-great-granchildren be born. And he always told all his offspring to eat a sprinkling of gunpowder every day.
One day, the man's grandson was contacted.
"Your grandfather, at age 102, has died," said the lawyer. "He has already been cremated, at his wishes, and we want to talk to you about his will."
"Oh- well, what is there?" the grandson asked, surprised.. "What did he leave?"
"His inheritance, two summer houses, and a giant hole in the wall of the crematorium."

SeaBreeze
07-28-2007, 10:06 AM
roflmfao. hhahahahhahhaha.

I don't want to get old. I see what they feed old people. Nooooot gooooood!

Cogito
07-28-2007, 10:23 AM
I prefer getting old over the alternatve,

Crazy Ivan
07-28-2007, 10:26 AM
Nah, I'd rather go with the Who's option: Die before I get old (Although they don't seem to have followed their own rules.)

There's just something about being old and weak and unable to move or talk or think too much that does not appeal to me.

SeaBreeze
07-28-2007, 10:27 AM
Then again... you could always hope for that special cat to come along and jump on your bed!

Crazy Ivan
07-28-2007, 11:03 AM
Huh?

SeaBreeze
07-28-2007, 11:17 AM
In an American nursing home (forgot which state) the resident cat goes and sleeps on people's beds and within a few hours, they pass away. The cat has apparently predicted 25 times that a patient will die. It's so creepy.

Crazy Ivan
07-28-2007, 11:20 AM
Oh, yeah, I saw about that in the newspaper...

Torana
07-28-2007, 11:31 AM
I don't like cats anymore!!!! Creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy little critter! But nice they didn't go on their own I guess. :S:S:S

SeaBreeze
07-28-2007, 11:35 AM
yeah, the poor dears have dementia. Kind of sad really. But it's nice that something is out there. And scientist/doctors can't explain the accuracy of the cat.

Banzai
07-28-2007, 12:12 PM
I never liked cats much to start with. They make me sneeze :( However, they are refreshingly smarter than dogs; evil, devious things though they are (the cats, that is).

Heather Louise
07-28-2007, 02:28 PM
cats and ogs and that are meant to have like a special sence. like, there was this man who got a hole thingy in his leg and it went gangreen. the hopsiptal said there was nothing they could do about it and it would propably have to be cut off (his leg). however, his dog just used to sit and lick this gangreen area over and over again and it started to heal and get better!! don't know why but it worked and the guy got to keep his leg. and if you don't beleive it, it was on Richard and Judy and you cannot argue with them :p

Banzai
07-28-2007, 02:37 PM
Must be true if it was on Richard and Judy, eh Heather? :p

Heather Louise
07-28-2007, 02:39 PM
yeaa, don't you just love Richard and Judy. my nana got me watching it when we used to live with her, and i love it now. go Richard and Judy!! :D:D did you know that they were married? i only just found out :|

Crazy Ivan
07-28-2007, 03:48 PM
I am a dog person, particularly a lab person.
Cats can be cute, but you just know they're plotting to take over your house, which kind of puts a damper on the "d'awwww look at the kitty" factor. O.o

Banzai
07-28-2007, 04:26 PM
did you know that they were married? i only just found out :|

Yeah... That's kinda the point, Heather :p

And Ivan is right. The damn things are devious.

Cogito
07-28-2007, 06:45 PM
There's a cat in a hospice facility in Rhode Island, USA, that has been in the news lately. It seems to have an unerring instinct for when one of the patients is going to die. A few hours before, the cat visits the room and settles down next to the patient, and remains there until he or she expires. The doctors say the cat is more accurate than any of their equipment, and has stayed with the last 25 patients who died there.

Amazing, or creepy?

(Of course, now that the cat has a reputation, wouldn't you suffer a heart attack if the cat settled down beside you?)

Yeah, that's the cat I was posting about, I just couldn't remember the news story very well, only the basics. So yeah, I think it's both amazing and creepy.

Yeah... That's kinda the point, Heather ok smart arse :p

and i change my mind from time to time which i like better, dogs or cats. i am scared of dogs tbh, but i love mine and my last one, Lucy, to bits. but then i used to love my cats, well, one of my cats 'cos the other on was evil. one was lovely and used to curl up on your tummy in little ball and that died unfortuanatly of leuikemia. the other one was the spawn of satan. it used to hide under my bed and scratch my face when i went to get a game from there. or it used to roll up in my covers and refuse to let me sleep in my own bed so i ended up sharing the night with my sister. that cat eventually scartched my mam in the eye so she chucked it outside one night, and it never ever came back again . . . . . . . .

When it comes to dogs I like the little ones. For example, King Charles Cavalier and Tea Cup Chihuaua, they are so adorable :D:P

Heather Louise

i like sorta medium sized dogs. Kalli, my current dog is a Springer Spaniel and my last one, Lucy was a Cocker Speniel. they are adorable. however, the first dog we had was Max, an Alsation, and he was one scary-ass dog. we got rid of him after he bit my auntie.

We've always had a staffy until recently and we've never had any trouble with those and they're a type of terrier. Very loyal dogs and great with children.

Although... the very last staffy we had was awful with other dogs because we rescued it and it had been bred for dog fighting and hadn't been put down. She was still great with people though, used to sleep next to my little cousin and "protect" her lol was very cute.

I think every dog is different but there are certain breeds that are prone to being a certain way.

My mum has a scar on her ankle from my uncles dog, she got it when she was little and it bit her. Wasn't deep or owt it just doesn't like people leaving... When it was a puppy it used to grab the bottom of your trousers, but as it got older it just started going for the ankle. Suppose its because it was more effective and got more attention that way?

I'm sure that's animal cruelty.

Being carried around in a bag all the time can be classed as animal cruelty because it does them more harm than good!

Apparantly the pads on their paws get weak so that when they eventually do try and walk it all blisters and cuts open and some of them find that their legs are too weak to support their bodies because they've not built up muscle.

Also, whilst some outfits can be a good thing (like dog coats in wind/rain etc) the stupid "for show" outfits can cause huge discomfort.

good points Kit, and foxes a vermin over here.

Kit
07-29-2007, 11:28 AM
:O I did not know that... how can they be classed as vermin??

I once helped out at an animal sanctuary and they had a fox cub brought in that somebody had taken out of the wild and tried to hand rear as a "puppy". I think that should be animal cruelty too, it was tamed to the point where it could not be released back into the wild and to this day spends its life in captivity at the sanctuary... Alright, so they're very nice people and it is well looked after but a fox shouldn't be fed from a bowl or walked on a lead...

Banzai
07-29-2007, 11:31 AM
Perhaps we should give the foxes guns too. That would even the odds.

Kit
07-29-2007, 11:34 AM
True... but that would be unnatural...

Maybe we should tie the evil humans to trees whilst covered in something that the foxes like to eat for dinner?

Banzai
07-29-2007, 11:37 AM
Yeah. Or I could line them up and have them shot along with other 'undesirables' when I take over. Whichever comes first.

Torana
07-29-2007, 11:40 AM
foxes cause a lot of damage over here and are in vast numbers actually.
I think they are adorable and a friend and myself raised 4 fox cubs. But you mention foxes to any farmers and the rangers and they honestly will tell you to kill them.
They are in massive numbers here and the damage they do to farmers live stocks is amazing really!

hideous ugly toads that are destroying our wildlife, they are vulgar creatures and taking over much of the country.
I am really hoping that they stay away from WA cause we have such beautiful countryside over here that they would simply devastate.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/d/dd/20061224214107!Cane-toad.jpg
that is a cane toad below is where they have taken over already. Although I am 80% sure this is not an updated one I think they are much more widespread now really.

Cogito

All toads have poison glands as part of their defense adaptation. The poison glands on the cane toads are particularly large and toxic. That is why they were imported in the first place, as a form of biological pest control.

It backfired.

Kit
07-29-2007, 12:31 PM
