Who are the memorable characters on this forum?
Eg if you were presented a pen and some paper in 7 days without being on the forums what names would you remember? Famous or Infamous, who would it be?

I would remember:

Eoz Eanj
Cogito
Night.Haunter
Torana

aww i thought this was about memorable characters from literature.

i tend to remember people by their icon or if they come from somewhere unusual, so their names escape me

Not me. =P

Uhm.. Well, I don't think I'd really remember anyone.. unless I saw something that reminded me of them randomly.

Has anyone else ever had so much time on their hands that they thought, "Why is it there's? Shouldn't it be there're when referring to plural items?"

Stupid English.

I think I've gone from famous to infamous in 3 posts...
It rips my heart out to know that...

Stupid English.

There's no accepted contraction for "there are", probably because there're doesn't save any syllables and loses clarity by trying to strip the vowel down to a warble in the "r" sound.

My point is that English is stupid and oxymoronic. I know it wouldn't be there're, but it seems every grammar rule is broken at one moment or another. Thusly, I shall be creating my own language. I'll copy sounds from other languages because I feel some languages better convey certain emotions better than others.

I wish I could rant in German... :(

Nein. Die deutsche Gramatik ist sehr schwerig- viele schweriger als English. Und obwohl Deutsch sehr sehr toll, sogar ich kann nicht fur lange in Deutsch sprechen :p

From my limited knowledge of the German language, I think it says something along the lines of: No. The grammar of the German language... (I've heard it's horribly confusing, but I don't know what you just said)... And...German...??

Yeah, that's about all I got out of that. However, I only wanted the sounds of the language for my more aggressive words. So many hards sounds just make everything strike your victims!

Lol. It says:

No. The German grammar is very difficult- much more difficult than English. And although German is very very cool, even I can't speak it for long :p

See... I wasn't that far off.

Banzai

Nope :p Have you ever learnt German?

adamant

Nein, I just try to pick up on the little things that I hear. Most of the Deutsch I know is either military (blitzkrieg, panzer) or small fragments in everyday language (und, die, bratwurst, gesundheit).

I am quite a pyro at times... so maybe that word will come of use in the future. (German/English dictionary)

Hey, 10,000Years, did you know you can summon Cogito to any thread simply by typing "pun", sans the quotation marks? Try it the next time you need a review or something.

I've started to keep part of a pun in my signature for emergency cases; such as getting lost in all of the nonsensical merriment of this forum.

Nah, I just scan recent activity, more in some forums than others. But invoking my name outside of a protective pentagram is hazardous!

adamant

Uh huh, is that why it just worked?! Man... this thread has gone way off topic. Time to use my signature-pun to return home.

There's no place like the home page.

I need to stop coming to this forum so early in the morning. My sleep deprived brain doesn't want to handle this type of conversation.

Cogito

How goes it, Domoviye? Good to see you dropping in, however fleetingly.

Fairly well actually. As long as I'm not kicked out of my hostel today, I should be coming a lot more regularly. I'm two doors away from a nice internet cafe that charges I believe 3 yuan (about 40 cents Canadian) an hour.
More info on another thread.

Well, if i had a choice of who was going to hijack this thread, it would most certainly be you and Cogito. Just don't fly it too low, bad things happen.

Maybe if you do something memorable, like find Bin-laden, find a solution to Global warming or pose on the Playgirl spread sheet you will be far more memorable! :P

Bin Laden? I think he's hiding out in one of the boats moored on the Thames...

I tell you of One Memorable character Hulls Raven. That guy is legend. Everyone who knows him loves him He is fair in real life he owns the military Cross my sister loves the man he is, not romantically that’s his wife’s job. He stands up for others he works on this forum as the damned best Moderator I have seen on any forum.
And he never fails us. He has a reputation that has put him on such a standing.

Banzai

Yes, Hulls pretty much is the forum. The reason it works so well, is pretty much down to his and Lpspider's devotion to it.
