This is my story.
I posted it on the short story thread but it isn;t going to be a short story.
So i decided to post it here.sorry if many of read it already onthe short story thread.

any critiques are welcome.i notperfect so i will be need to change or write some more to get the experience.

Prologue
NASA May 15

Today is a very boring day for David Jackson. It is his first day of work after his long vacation and he has to work the night shift. “Man this sucks it’s my first day of work after my vacation and I’m working alone and the worst part of it is that they took the radio”. When David was to go to make himself some coffee so he could not fall asleep he heard the computer beeping. A malfunction he thought but he heard it again and realized it was coming from the radar. He checked the monitor and saw that the radar was detecting something. Then he heard some static on the radio and after that, he heard a message coming through. “: Do not…………………….. ………………………………... to………………………much…………….. pain…………….us”.
There was a lot of static so David could not hear the complete message and therefore he decided to reply. “Who are you? Repeat your message there was a lot of static.”
“We… are….in……………don’t…...” and David heard a terrible scream. The scream was so loud and in some sort of agony that he took of his earphones. David decided to call General Bryn and to tell him what just happened.
General Bryn was soundly asleep next to his wife when he heard his phone ringing. He picked up the receiver. “Hello who is it”?
“It’s David Jackson sir”.
“Son are you out of your mind? Do you know how late it is? I hope it is an urgent call. What? When did it happen? From which frequency did the signal originated from?”
“It came from 0514 sir.”
It cannot be. Thad can’t be it must be some sort of mistake. Did you enhance the computer images David?”
“No sir I did not, but I’m just about to go does it”.
“Yes you do that. I’ll be arriving soon and General Bryn hung up.” “Sorry dear but I have to go something came up.” On his way to the headquarters, he still could not believe that they received a signal from the Archangel. When he arrived, he went directly to the control room to meet with David. “Did you get the computer enhancement David?”
“Yes Sir I just did, but sir I do not get it.”
“What do you not get David?”
“Sir if the ship is really in earth’s orbit why it doesn’t try to land?”
“What are you talking about? In earths orbit? You mean to tell me that that signal came from a ship in earth’s orbit?” David showed General Bryn the computer enhancements and he stood there like in shock not even saying a word. He asked David to let him hear the recorded messages. After listening to the message, he told David to call everyone of the complex for a meeting. David thought that he was overreacting about the whole thing but he followed his orders and called everyone. After one hour, that David made the call everyone arrived. General Bryn told David to lead everyone in the conference room. “Ladies and Gentlemen sorry for calling you upon such short notice. I have reasons to believe that we have received messages from the Archangel.” Everyone began murmuring, some even stood up to go home others began asking what kind of joke this is. “This is not a joke and please sit down.” “How is it possible? After so many years of searching and now you’re telling us that you just received a message from them.” “That is right and the strangest part of it is that the ship is in earth’s orbit.” “What? How can that be, we would of have detected it. That’s a mistake General.”
“You are telling me that I am wrong. David patch the enhancement through to the conference room.” It looked like everybody has seen a ghost. They sat in disbelieve, others demanded to hear the message so they could truly believe. “David put the message and let us hear it again.” Bryn asked Doctor Grey what were his thoughts on this situation. “I always believed we would find the Archangel but never in earth’s orbit. Have you tried to make contact General Bryn?”
“Yes, but still no answer and a lot of static.”
“And what is the course of action General Bryn? I hope you already have one.” “I’m still working on that sir. We are looking for various frequencies to see which will work.”
“General send a team to see what is going on and if there are any survivors. It has been about 20 years since we heard of the Archangel Bryn. I can still remember the screams and the agony that they went through I do not want them to go through that again general. So gather a team and go on a search and rescue mission.”
“I would sir but the Endeavor is the only ship available and it’s due to go next week and I do not have crew. I will have to assemble a whole new crew.”
“Good its settle then. Gather your crew and go check that ship out. I will take care of the endeavor and of the rest.



Chapter one

Cassandra Newton is finally getting her vacation. She is going to see her family after spending 9 months in a training program at NASA. She is very happy that she is going to see her mom, dad and sister. Being part of the space program is what she always wanted and she is doing her best. Cassandra is a space biologist and she is one of the best on the field.
“Cassandra you’re ready? This is your last day here so we have to celebrate, let’s go have some beers.”
“I am not in the mood to drink. I have to wake up early in the morning to catch the plane and you slackers are going to be sound asleep.”
“Come on Cassandra he isn’t coming with us and he regrets what happened. Forget what happened and forgive him.”
“It’s too late for regrets do you not think so? Besides, I am going home and he can join who ever he wants. He broke my heart and I cannot forget that. You sure he isn’t coming?”
“Yes for sure. Stop living in the past and come celebrate with us.” Cassandra decided to go and celebrate with her friends. First, they went to pick up Josephine’s boy friend Jonas and Derek. They drove about half an hour to get to the bar. They have been coming here since they joined the space program. They knew everyone that worked in this bar. So getting drinks if it were a busy night is no problem. When they got their usual table, Derek went to the bar and to get drinks for everyone. “Look who is coming” said Jonas. When Cassandra turned around, she saw Derek and Mateo coming with the drinks. She got furious, took her purse and tried to leave but Jonas grabbed her hands.
“ Why are you leaving so soon? What is the deal between you and Mateo anyway? You should give the guy a chance to explain. He doesn’t eat, shave and the worst part of it is that he doesn’t bathe anymore.”
Cassandra and Josephine erupted in laughter.
“I was kidding about the bathing thing but seriously the guy is a mess. You should give the guy a chance and hear what he has to say”.
“Maybe you are right Jonas. I should have given him a chance to explain what happened.”
Derek and Mateo joined the table and right after that Jonas asked Josephine if she wanted to dance and she agreed. Derek went to bar again to get some peanuts.
“ How are you Cassandra? Look, this is the group last night for this season and I do not know when I am going to see you again. Therefore I want you to give me a chance to explain what happened.”
Cassandra did not want to bring up the past because it was too painful for her.
“ We had a nice thing she told him and you broke my heart. You cheated on me with that bitch and you knew that she was my teacher. You know what the worst is, I caught in our bed with that bitch and now you want to come and tell me a story you have been making out these past months that we were apart.” Derek came and interrupted their conversation. “Have you guy’s heard anything about the General?” Neither of them knew anything. When Jonas and Josephine he asked them the same thing and Jonas told them that he heard something about an Archangel or something and that the General is going to send the Endeavor on a search and rescue mission. Derek suggested for the whole crew to volunteer for this mission.” It would be great and besides we never had a search and rescue mission before. This could be our chance to prove our skills and get better assignments in the future. The other crews are on vacation and they are due in about two months. We are the perfect crew. We have the best pilot and co-pilot, the best space biologist, best doctor and we have Jonas. By the way what is your position man?”
“I am a computer expert you geek. Some friend you are, forgetting my position. I can hack in any program.”
“See guy’s we are good enough to go on this mission. You look like you have something to say Cassandra.”
“You forgot that I am going home. We have been here for 14 months and I want to go home and see my family.”
“Think about it Cassandra. I am going to talk to the general tomorrow and ask him if we can go on the mission. For now let’s celebrate and we will see what will happen.” After a couple of more drinks, they decided to go home and rest. When Cassandra got home, she was still thinking what Derek was talking. She wants to part of this mission but she misses her family. “Guess I have to sleep on it.”





Chapter two

Sitting in his neatly arranged office general Bryn is still thinking about the Archangel and which crew he should put together for this mission. “After so many years of searching and now after 20 years we receive a distress signal. What happened on that day to you and the crew? If you are out there, I am going to make sure you come home this time. I am going to have to send my best agents.”
General Bryn’s private phone began ringing and he immediately picked up the receiver. “Hello?”
“It is Doctor Grey. I have managed to get you in charge of this mission. The Endeavor is all yours general and do not forget what kind of mission this is. Have you managed to assemble a crew yet?”
“I am still working on it.”
“As usual trying to look for people who you can trust to do your dirty work. I took the liberty to look through some files and came up with good crew for this mission. Young and dumb as always.”
“Do not even think about sending a young crew to look for the Archangel. I will not let you do it.”
“Hahah who do you think you are general to give me orders? Who are you to judge me? They are the best we can get for now. I will mail the files for you and remember to delete the mail when you are finished. Oh and by the way, someone is leaking information. So be careful to whom you talk and what you say. Did you check your mail?”
“Why do we need two military guys on this mission? We do not want to attract attention remember. The rest look like they are qualified for the mission. I will look for the replacements for the two military guys’. And they even went through some special training these last months.”
“You can take the two military guys’ out and replace them with who ever suits you and don’t even think about double crossing me general” and doctor grey hung up the phone.
