I doubt anyone outside the UK will have heard about this, but it's all over the news here (and rightly so, I think).

On Friday, a warehouse in Warwickshire, England, caught fire, and burnt down. Firefighters entered the burning building to attempt to rescue people who may have been inside. One died. Three went missing. Today the Warwickshire firefighters found the body of one of their colleagues, which is to be removed from the warehouse with a guard of honour. The remaining two are still missing, and the warehouse is structurally decaying. It isn't clear whether the search will be able to be completed.

I know this sort of stuff happens all the time, but it really gets to me when brave men and women lay down their lives like this.

Thoughts, anyone?

I've just heard on the news that they think they've found another body.

Sorry to hear this Banzai.
It is sad when anyone dies but someone who is trying to make the world better makes it doubly sad, no matter where in the world it happens.

This is the reason I respect firemen and others who put their lives on the line trying to help people.

Sad... but common. This is why I respect anyone who puts their life on the line to help others.

Yea, i heard about this but at last news as far as i had heard they had still not found anyone. i am sorry that they have been found dead. and yes, being a Fireman is a respectable and lifeendagering job which i am honured that people would do that to save lives such as my own.

Salute the firemen/women. Good people. Good deeds. Apparently bad outcome. But still good.

These things don't really happen all that often, fortunately. These amazing men and women do everything possible to remain safe.

Everything, that is, except walk away as long as there is a chance of saving lives.

Their commitment in the face of death is the stuff of legends.
