View Full Version : Smoking Night Haunter 12-01-2007, 11:05 AM Do you smoke if so why. If not why not? SeaBreeze 12-01-2007, 11:10 AM Nope. Mainly the smell and the taste of it. I would take a drag of my friends ciggerette and feel like scrubbing my mouth out with tooth paste and skulling mouth wash just to get rid of the taste. The smell is disgusting to me. Hate it. Both my parents smoked and a few of my friends do as well. In my mum's house, when I was living there, I didn't really allow anyone to smoke in my room because I hated the smell of it. I tried smoking. Stole my mums menthols. Managed to replace the packet but I never really got into them. Sure, once in a blue moon I feel like taking a drag and it's usually if I've been drinking a bit but not often. Night Haunter 12-01-2007, 11:11 AM I have to admit I do love a good smoke on a Malboro Red very nice always best at the days end. SeaBreeze 12-01-2007, 11:16 AM After a hard day I wouldn't blame anyone! Though it's nicer to go to the pub now that smoking inside of pubs is illegal now. No more haze and watery eyes... and no-more ciggerette stench once you get home! But hey, everyonce and a while I annoy my mum when she has a go at me for 'wastin gmy money' on magazines. I remind her how much ciggerettes cost! she doesn't liek that... Lemex 12-01-2007, 11:24 AM I like the smoking ban. I never liked the smell of smoke. Cogito 12-01-2007, 12:03 PM I smoked for a while in my early 20's. Cigars and pipe, never could stand cigarettes. I quit around the time I stopped doing a lot of unhealthy things. It wasn't easy, but it wasn't as hard as I have seen friends go through with cigarettes. I do believe, from what I have seen, that cigarettes are formulated in a way that increases their addictive nature. Whether it was deliberately done is speculation, but it has certainly benefitted the tobacco companies. I have been tempted on occasion to smoke, but have not given in to it. It has been a long time since the last time I felt that temptation. About 10 years ago, a woman who was very dear to me died, suddenly and alone. The medical examiner's report revealed that she had died of asphyxiation following a mild heart attack, and that heavy smoking had caused the damage to her heart. She did not make it to age 50. My current girl friend just quit smoking for Thanksgiving (which was 23 November this year). I am extremely relieved, and proud of her for the strength to do so. I'm sure it won't be easy, but I believe in her and fully support her effort. lordofhats 12-01-2007, 12:43 PM No. I can't stand the smell of ciggerette smoke and I don't want to know what it feels like to have it in your lungs. luke_mushu_2010 12-01-2007, 02:04 PM I like the way they smell but not the way they taste. I don't smoke, I just like smelling the smoke, lol. Banzai 12-01-2007, 02:16 PM I can't stand it. I hate the smell, the feeling of smoke on my skin, what it does to people. A few of my friends smoke, and while I used to be able to put up with it, my tolerance has recently declined, and I just avoid them when they are smoking. I'm very glad about the smoking ban, and I just wish that the tobacco companies didn't have such a stranglehold over people. PrincessGarnet 12-01-2007, 03:34 PM come on smoking is cool and you know it :P Banzai 12-01-2007, 03:37 PM Yeah, all the cool people die horribly  Night Haunter 12-01-2007, 03:43 PM Im still alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p Banzai 12-01-2007, 03:45 PM That's what you think... :p Night Haunter 12-01-2007, 03:46 PM lol.......Nope still here:p Banzai 12-01-2007, 03:52 PM Perhaps we're all dead... lordofhats 12-01-2007, 03:57 PM If you think about everyone is dying. Some just die faster than others. PrincessGarnet 12-01-2007, 03:58 PM Yeah, all the cool people die horribly  well quite a few rock stars do :P Cogito 12-01-2007, 04:24 PM If I'm going to die for something, it won't be something as pointless as the voluntary inhalation of toxic fumes. lordofhats 12-01-2007, 04:25 PM If I'm going to die for something, it won't be something as pointless as the voluntary inhalation of toxic fumes. Can I quote you on that? :D Cogito 12-01-2007, 04:44 PM You just did :D Night Haunter 12-01-2007, 06:24 PM When death claims me. I certainly hope its for something that has a meaning and nothing pointless. ILTBY 12-01-2007, 06:37 PM I don't smoke and have never tried it. I don't hold anything against those who do it, but I find it very unpleasant and don't plan on ever trying it, I think I'd have a very bad reaction to it anyway. Frost 12-01-2007, 06:58 PM I'll never smoke, because of asthma. I don't hate it though, alot of the people who I admire most are smokers. One of my drum teacher's who I have infinite respect for smokes, my dad used to smoke etc etc. I actually don't mind the smell, but the taste is putrid. The after-taste of Coopers stout is pretty much liquid cigarette. Eoz Eanj 12-02-2007, 12:39 AM After living with a pack a day plus smoker for 17 years, I have vowed never, ever to take up smoking, and yes, I'm talking about my Mother, who, in conjunction with her laundry list of aliments, all life style related, probably has another 10 years to live, which disappoints and angers me profoundly, because I love my Mother and the fact that she's probably going to die of something she's done to herself is well, beyond words. evizaer 12-02-2007, 12:41 AM I don't smoke because I value my life--I shall not throw it away so casually on a needless habit that does nothing to improve me as a human being. want2playwithurevilinside 12-02-2007, 12:49 AM Malboro Red.... Nice choice! I smoke at night before i go to bed sort of thing. Although i do hate other people smoking, because it does smell bad.. especially if they're smoking cheap crap. Plus it is very intimidating/disrespectful sitting and having people blow their cigarette smoke near you.. wordwizard 12-02-2007, 12:54 AM I am not a smoker. I have tried it, just ended up not liking it. My parents are smokers and I never liked going to school smelling like smoke. It gets into everything, and is awful. I have had family members die of smoking related deaths, and it just doesn't seem worth it. Torana 12-02-2007, 05:16 AM I had quit but now smoke again. I hate smoking. It stinks, it tastes foul and does nothing apart from chew a hole in my pocket and lessen my life span. But the stress I have been under the last fews months at least, I needed something and I went back to the smoking thing. I will give up again one day I know. |
