The start of my plot is a hero, who meets supernatural beings and eventually get hints and warnings. These hints are things that need to be accomplished or else bad things will happen.

What kind of stuff could I use in my plot? I don't want to steal from the sixth sense or a christmas carol, I want mine to be original.

By the way if you want advice, and it is not too time consuming I can help you. P.M me.

You could give your hero a gift, some sort of gift that sets him apart and allows him to know or see things that others can't?

As for the struggle for originality, its just amazingly tough to come up with something that hasnt already been done somewhere. In truth, I dont think people mind seeing ideas repeated, what they DO mind is poor writing.

That's a good idea. I think I could come up with something to work with it.

If you have mystical beings, figure out what they are, and what the rules are beforehand. I think sometimes people loose sight of the rules, but life has rules.

Well for one, don't use the title "Supernatural", because that's already a title for a TV show.
