Being a pastry chef was also great fun. I have never eaten so well in my life. I enjoyed the decoration and some of the baking, but much of it became monotonous and unappealing after awhile. You go home everyday absolutely covered in fine flour, or, even worse, powdered sugar. Trust me it will get everywhere. I remember cleaning my ears and finding lots of sweet powder in them. And one more thing, the pay stinks. no matter where you are, the pay will stink. They will make you work too fast, too hard, and for twelve hours a day. You will be very fortunate indeed to get two days off next to each other. The only possible way to make any decent money is to start your own little patissirie (sp?) or coffeshop, and do all the work yourself.
