Just noticed something really weird - my post count has gone down to 1 (now 2) ... I had at least nearly 30 posts... where did they all go?

HAH- the chatbox being deleted also deleted post counts. Intrested in seeing Raven and Torana's counts!

Aye, mine had gone right down although I never posted that many times in the chatbox. Ow well, it's not important anyways really.

I seriously reckon some glitch has killed my posts.
Dang it!

if anyone remembers what mine was, let me know... i don't keep track, so don't know if it was cut, or not... but it does seem low, considering i've been here a year and post more than 3-4 posts per day, with next to no days 'off'...

My count used to be around 25.

The Chatbox thread got trashed last night. This is what caused many people's post counts to plummet, by the number of posts they had in that thread.
As for MissSupernatural's post count, you should know that posts in Word Games are not included it the displayed post count.

Wow. Didn't know that one.

The last time I took a passing look at your post count it was around the 1,300 mark so I think you're fine.

No actually, most of my posts that haven't been in the chatbox have been in the "Writing Issues" forums.

You're right. Of the 32 actual posts you currently have on the forum, only one is in Word Games. All the rest of them should appear in your count.
Daniel, any idea why the count would be off like that? I can't see any pattern in the posts she has that would lead to a count of only 6. I just tried posting to one of the threads she posted in, and my count went up as expected.

After my count reset, it's been going up like normal. But yes, all of a sudden it just reset itself.

Not to be rude, but I'm having a bit of trouble seeing the importance of having a larger post count. ^_^

It doesn't make a huge difference, but there are some features that depend, at least to some degree, on the number of posts you have made. One of these is the status of Junior Member vs Member vs Senior Member.
The foundations of the planet are essentially unaffected though.

Uh, I'm not really fussed by it - my post count wasn't that high. But I thought it would be wise to point it out to the Moderators so they can make sure it's not a part of a bigger problem.
Not being rude.

I had a post called: Paragraphs. At first it was in this section, but was then moved to reviewing. It is completely gone now... I have no idea what happened to it!

Okay, so it didn't just effect me. =/
At least you had a few posts to your names after the chatbox fiasco. Mine was totally wiped out, although i also had many posts in the novels, new member sections, etc.

It affected nearly everyone. But when all was said and done, the sun still rose in the east the following day. :)

Why is the site so frequently offline... It's like you're in the middle of viewing something and it doesn't work. Is it just a hosting problem?

It does seem to be playing up a bit lately. See my screw up in the poetry contest voting thread for an example.

I have noticed that in thepast couple weeks, performanc of this site degrades sharply beginning in late afternoon and running to close to midnight, eastern US time. This suggests to me that it is network traffic related. I doubt it is directly connected to this site's normal traffic, but I don't know if this site is hosted by a dedicated server, or a server shared with other sites (Daniel?)
I have found the site to be unusable in any practical sense in the evening hours lately. My apologies to a few of you waiting for reviews.
The site seems to work best in the morning, for me. Between 1 AM and 10 AM PST. I'm not able to load the site in the afternoon sometimes, or it just takes incredibly long to load (often with errors).

That's interesting.
Here in Australia, where it's around 6pm CST, the site is working perfectly fine. However, over the day, it's been on and off at random.
This then suggests to me, considering the above posts, that the site goes down constantly over a 24-hour period, affecting all the different time zones.
