Hey, how's everyone doin?

Well, few things about myself... I'm 19, I just started writing pretty seriously. My favorite genres are fantasy and sci fi. I just finished reading the whole series of The Legend of Drizzt and I loved it! If anyone is looking for some good fantasy, check it out. It's by R.A. Salvatore.

I also play the drum and love hard rock music.

Thanks, see you on the boards!

good morning and welcome Hanolay.
I think you will enjoy this site. Lots of interesting people who really know their stuff.
I am not one of the knowledgeable ones so I come to pick their brains.
Enjoy yourself and the lounge is a great place to sit and relax.

Hi there! Welcome to the forums and I hope you've found your way around here alright. I'd be interested in taking a look at that series, what's it about?

Hello Hanolay, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ (http://www.writingforums.org/faq.php) as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? (http://www.writingforums.org/showpost.php?p=65432&postcount=1) for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
