Just like it sounds, there is the review of a book I must do for an exam.
But, I'm not really skilled at reviewing, so I thought I would ask for some help.
The book is Jeanette Winterson's "The Passion".
From where do I start reviewing a book?
I mean, content-wise, character-wise, plot-wise and everything-else-wide...?
How do I extract all these kinda contents and how do I treat them?
And what about intertextual material?
I mean, like when an author quotes another author/piece of work or embeds myths and the like whithin the text...how do I notice there is this kinda material inside a book and how do I extract such contents? How do I treat them?
It's my very first time (never did something like this at school/university and never took courses which explain how to do so - Italian school/university sucks when it comes down to teach how do this kinda things; it's all theory, theory, theory and what someone else wrote on someone else...).
Please, please help! I'm really at a loss.
Oh, and if this isn't the right forum to ask so, please, forgive me.
