Hi! Several of you have already met me, but some have not.
I didn't realize that there was a newbie welcoming board, so when I found it, I thought I might as well introduce myself. I've already posted several times, both in the reviewing department and the request review department.
I love writing, and have since I was about 9 years old. I don't do many small things, I like novels better, but I do dabble a little in poetry, and I have written a few short stories.
I was on a writing board a few years ago that was called Sheroes, but the people there were more intent on having a social gathering rather than enjoying the quaint art of novel writing and poetry (both of which I think should be included in the fine arts). Needless to say, their critique was not helpful in the least.
So far this forum has been much better! :)

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum).
