Becoming a Writer

  1. I could list things such as:

    1. Know the language you're using
    2. Let your imagination free
    3. Be willing to learn even if you think you know "everything" already
    4. Write daily and be professional about it
    5. Do your research thoroughly
    6. Read

    But what I'm really going to say is: "Do you want it?"

    This one is probably the hardest for me. I always procrastinate, and I can have a very short attention span at times.

    Well, I've perfected the art of procrastination, and if I didn't have my husband reminding me of it all the time, I probably would have never finished a story till this day. Yes, it's never easy. :)

    But if you want it enough, truly want it, and are willing to do all the work it requires... The power of our minds can do wonders. I believe. :)

    You know, I don't think that my BF will ever be able to not finish writing a piece ever again. I love his writing and harp at him all the time about wanting to read more of his work. Poor guy! :p lol

    Gahh same here bud o_O I'm such a lazy bum when it comes to just sitting down and typing. Even if I know that published writers type 5000+ words a day!!

    Torana: But that's a good thing. :p Yes, poor guy. I'm trying to get my husband to write, too. He's amazing with words, but he has so many things on his mind that... there's just not enough time. Well, we shall see. :)

    Shadow Dragon: It's the way for all of us beginners. I don't know how published authors get by, but I believe everyone has problems sometimes. It's just the matter how you get over them.

    Charisma: You is too cute. :)

    Aurora Black: I guess we all are. But it will change. It's something all of us want... so why not work for it? Hih!
