Creative Air

By cydney · Sep 15, 2016 · ·
  1. Kanye West says he's gonna get rid of his phone so he'll have 'air to create'. I love that! So, Imma jump on it and use it for the title to a blog entry.

Now if I can just think of what I want to create!

I thought about a couple of themes in my insomniac hours - those unsuccessful moments when I'm trying to fall asleep I THINK, unfortunately.

I thought about writing short stories or 'flashes' of a girl and her boyfriend and how he won't quit his job at the chicken farm even though it makes it her sick DAILY. In the end she finally determines, reluctantly, that he loves the chicken farm more than he loves her, so she wisely moves on.

Another 'flash' - an allegory about a raven who lives in the rafters of the world. Her name is Temple Raven. She tells the story of how she came to live there, why she remains there, and what she sees and learns about herself and the world.

Now, I'll just see how well I go about actually creating those creative ideas!

Everyone needs air, right? Air to breathe. Air to create. Great idea, Kanye! Thanks!

Not so hot on Kanye, but I really like Temple Raven!

Thanks @gibble410 . I thought maybe an allegory might be easier to write. I'm really stressed out these days. But I guess every story is an allegory, in a way. One of my favorite stories of all time is "Hind's Feet on High Places". I should look that up & see if I can't get some inspiration from it.

Regarding the length, breadth and width of a book

    I like sturdy hardback books,
    bound nice and tight
    with a very deep storyline.
    The size should be
as large as the reader wishes
    and long enough to satisfy

    but not painfully long.

    :)

Let me tell you something -
    I've discovered a new drink -
    one that tastes good -
    I can swallow it
w/o that little hang-ey down thing
in the back of my throat
    going ugh ugh ugh -
    SO it is dangerous!
    Watch out!
    I WILL speak the truth.

NOW, here is something I thought about today
when my phone was dead & I couldn't talk to you guys.

All this darkness, this nasty darkness that makes me sick,
is all about control - has nothing to do with mental illness
or dying or death or some strange sickness.
    It's about control.

Whether you buy into it or not -
    your choice!

    And just remember -
    re this same character -
    I've never been wrong.

    :)

    Surviving Torture Without Bitterness

I noticed members like to talk about what they'd like to write about as much as what they're actually writing about. I'm not sure where to post it or if I even can yet, so I'll post it here as a reminder, but I'd like to write about surviving torture, mental and physical, without bitterness. :)

Trying to write fantasy bit by bit. I hope it works. I don't want to write it by myself.

    Whatever works, right? Maybe?

I have all day and until late tomorrow. Surely something will develop. :) I'm optimistic.

Inspiration is a mystery to me -
    as well as instinct -
the way a person moves, reacts,
    responds.
    But those are the elements
    that make knowledge and understanding
    so beautiful.

    And maybe
    there's a little wisdom
    in the mix.

    Anger and/or Righteous Indignation

I mean to write about this earlier and forgot.

I read a poem this week by a guy who seemed/s really really angry. One of the best poems I've read recently. Great!

It reminded me how anger can be a huge writing provocation.

But I also thought about how hurtful anger can be when it's leveled at the wrong person or when what you're really trying to do is find someone to blame other than yourself.

I've done all those things. Mostly the negative ones!

I really don't think writing is worth that kind of pain.

It's been so long since I've written erotic or sexual or even romantic scenes, I've forgotten how. I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to remember. :) I used to love to write like that. I like it all - erotica, sex, explicit, not so explicit, romance - you name it!

I would love to take up the habit again.

I like imagining the scene and then trying to describe it in as much detail as possible. The feelings and emotions are hard to describe accurately. That was always my goal - to somehow transfer feeling to the reader. Great goal but hard to do!
