I think I'm turning British! :D

  1. I just realized that I might be turning into a British person:

#1- I love and respect Queen Elizabeth II, even though I know she doesn't exactly hold any real power.

#2- I've adopted some British slang into my vocabulary and have found myself muttering them under my breath.

#3- I love and respect British history.

#4- I've taken an interest in British politics.

#5- I'm reading British literature. (ie, the Master and Commander series.)

...I should just go on ahead and move to Britain, then. XD

Horatio Hornblower would like to know when you're ready to set sail for the homeland.

Wonderful enthusiasm Link...the only slight problem is that enthusiasm is not an especially British trait. You will be turning British when:

1- You kinda respect the Queen. You can certainly love your dog and maybe your slippers and perhaps your partner and your kids.

    2- You swear. A lot.

3- 'Churchill? Who he? Oh, the dog in the whimsical adverts, you mean?'

4- You think politics is an activity for damaged and dysfunctional individuals. Best avoided.

5- You might read literature, but more likely, your reading will be the sports pages of the Sun newspaper.

I respect the Queen. Maybe saying "love her" was too much...

    2- You swear. A lot.
    Don't we all?

3- 'Churchill? Who he? Oh, the dog in the whimsical adverts, you mean?'
    Sarcasm?

4- You think politics is an activity for damaged and dysfunctional individuals. Best avoided.
    I agree.

Hmmm....Well, I don't read the sports paper nor the Sun newspaper. I get my news from the internet.

Art, I wouldn't say your five points are all particularly British. Then again, you're stereotyping so yeah... But yes, we British are very pessimistic - a generalisation though.

Link, you should come to Britain. :D

That's funny, I feel the same way about Prince William. I secretly hoped he and I would have a future together as we broke tradition in a way that would make Diana proud.

#2- I've adopted some British slang into my vocabulary and have found myself muttering them under my breath.

I've been saying bloody for years, because even though it's a very vicious cussword in England, teachers in America think it's cute.

#3- I love and respect British history.

So do I. Especially the parts where they got kicked out of every nation they held power in by a bunch of farmers and villagers.

#4- I've taken an interest in British politics.

Does reading Harry Potter count as British politics? Because I kinda follow that. :p

#5- I'm reading British literature. (ie, the Master and Commander series.)

Oddly enough, most British people watch a lot of American television.

...I should just go on ahead and move to Britain, then. XD

Good luck with that. A lot of my friends are finding it rough with the economy as it is and getting a greencard is going to be tricky now.
