Stop running and accept your fate, Micah

  1. So I'm a writer.

I kind of knew it all along, just tried to play the Jonah game and sail away into my happy future of... anything else. Unfortunately, storm, big fish, three days in whale belly, spit up on land, you know the story. Ok, so it wasn't quite as dramatic as the real Jonah, but it was similar. Kinda.

Anyway, I'm working on a science fiction novel. I tend to write unbelievably slowly - still fiddling with the first page. Maybe I'll post some of it later.

What is it about science fiction that is so appealing to me? The concept, ideas, settings? More on that later...

Don't worry about writing slowly. You're not the only one. It takes hours of sitting in front of a computer writing lines, deleting them, writing them in a different way, deleting those and repeating until I have what I feel is decent, but still know it can be improved upon. Sometimes the same paragraph can take an hour because I just refuse to move on until I feel satisfied with what I've done. As I'm sure you've already decided to do, be patient and work at your own pace.
