the best of you.

  1. in two days, i have submitted two pieces to two different publications. with the exception of my community college publication (which a lot of people don't take seriously), these are the first two publications i have sent anything to (or...to where i have sent anything).

i submitted to Glimmer Train, and don't expect anything. i know i have to receive many, many, many rejection letters before i acheive anything. however, the piece i submitted is something i have worked on for five years. it's my baby. and i'm petrified.

the other one, well, i wrote it in twenty minutes. and, of course, it's probably my best piece of work. go figure. my best work is done in twenty minutes. my worst is probably all of that **** i've poured over for years.

EDIT: I really don't like censorship.

I'm sure it will work out for you but I have noticed that with myself as well the more I agonize over it the worse a story is while if I just let my writing flow well it turns out perfect or at least close to it in my head. I think it's natural really. once again good luck ^.^ you have more courage then I do lol.

Rave, I have like 17 things submitted right now. After the first couple rejections you kind of get used to it. I did finally get some of my poetry accepted. Sometimes it just takes time to find the right 'home' for your work. A rejection doesn't mean your work sux, most of the time it means it's not right for the publication you have selected to submit it to. Don't give up, acceptance is out there waiting for you. :)
