verb confusion - is this correct?

I was hoping they would have a section where you can leave notes. Helpful pieces of info you can use in future. I liked the idea that "dotted" means "scattered" as well. great new adjective for me to use in future stories.

Dotted, to me, would seem to be a more informal way of describing something that's scattered. It's borderline slang, as in dotted across a map

However, it's still valid as people will get what you're trying to say
