You Found Me

By Lydia · Jul 9, 2012 · ·
  1. Well hello there ladies and gentlemen. Long time no blog.

I've been doing a bit of messing around with my guitar today, and I (kinda) did a cover of You Found Me by The Fray. I say kinda because I left pieces out and such. 't is a problem of mine, I can never cover songs properly. You'll see (hear, I guess) that I've made plenty of mistakes but since I was only trying out when I made it I don't mind too much. Of course, then I'm too lazy to record a better version, ha. I edited a bit in iMovie so the thing has some sort of echo to it. I dunno, I thought it was cool.

Anyways, tell me what you think. :)

P.S: Please ignore my bad quality webcam AND my moronic facial expressions. Thanks.

I enjoyed that. The pauses and slips I can forgive, and overall it was pretty good. The sound quality is a bit muffled too sadly, but that's not really a problem.

Thank you! :) Yeah, I started playing the guitar over a year ago, but I got so busy during the school year that I really didn't take enough time to practice. I'm hoping to improve my playing this summer, so I guess I'll keep practicing.

That's all it takes: practice. I've been playing guitar for a few years now and still make some pretty silly slips and mistakes when playing. :)

Very cute accent. So the car drives by and confuses you a little? Cracked me up. Did you use a voice effect for this? Or just a mic thing? It sounds really good. No moron faces.

Haha, my accent, yeah... wish I didn't have it, but what is one to do? Nah, I just played the wrong thing there, I'm used to all the background noise.
It's a voice effect in iMovie, called... well, I don't know what it's called in English, but it's to make it sound as if you're in a big room. I wish I had some kind of mic, the recording quality on my laptop really isn't that good.
And thanks! (I'll always have weird facial expressions)

    An echo? Reverb?
  7. Lydia
Well, I guess it's just reverb, but the literal translation of the voice effect is called 'big room'.

Large room/audio enhancements rock. iMovie = addiction.
