In the third Frank Cole mystery, the Exile town bank's safe deposit area is about to be audited and Frank is asked to track down the owners of some abandoned boxes. It seems like a simple job until the dead husband of one box-holder talks his way into the safe deposit area, the lady who owns the box turns up dead, and a tough DA shows up in Exile to throw Frank off the job.
