I'm working on my first novel, and it's going at kind of a George RR Martin pace. I often feel too depressed to write, but I've been learning that when I'm the most depressed that is when I need to write. It's hard to do though.

I work as a restaurant server, which I really don't like because people can be so hard to please and still my managers expect me to be able to please them. It has been especially difficult to please people recently as some are apparently upset with me but never complain to me in the restaurant, just call up and complain later.

One lesson I have been learning recently, which I hope will become life-altering for me and will help me work out my depression and anxiety at work, is to stop paying attention to the things people say about me, BOTH good and bad, and simply weigh myself against my own inner convictions, which for me are my Christian values and really my reliance on Jesus and my identification in Him.
