My name is Marianna, I am 32 and am somewhat of a gypsy. I have trotted around the globe for past few years (some for work, some for play), so much so that my accent developed multiple personalities (a cocktail of Russian, New York, Canadian, Australian).

Basically, I have spent the past half a decade bouncing after a boy without a clear agenda of my own. However, I'm finally ready to take stock of my life which means pursuing my passion -- writing. So I'm leaving the boy (not officially, just physically), and heading home to NY where I will very temporarily crash at parents' (yiiikes!) while looking for a job in what I hope to be a fulfilling career of putting pen to paper...or fingers to keyboard. I'm pretty freaked out as I haven't lived at home since the age of 18...sooo, that shall be interesting. Anyway, jobwise I've been leaning towards copywriting. Though I am slightly confused, or greatly confused rather, about how to choose a niche. I have some, albeit very little, copywriting experience, so I'm basically starting from scratch.

So this here is my first step. I figured that surrounding myself with other aspiring/seasoned writers can only be helpful and motivational. I have a month until NY so my plan is to immerse myself in the writing pool--dabble in some contests, do some freebies, whatever. I am excited and nervous. But mostly excited. I am also looking to meet other copywriters to learn more about the field, get some tips, anything and everything.

That's a wrap. And thanks for having me :)

Writing, film, music, guitar, travel, muay thai, food, wine.
