Hi, my name is Billy Lorimer, I work as an excavator/dumptruck driver, and my 2011 New Year resolution was to try something different with my life. Despite no experience whatsoever, I decided to write a novel. Initially the challenge was just to finish it, my own personal Mt Everest if you like, then the challenge became to finish it within a year of conceiving the idea. I managed to achieve it, albeit at the cost of quality! I did everything wrong - I changed it to accommodate a follow-up, I didn't re-write it, and I didn't have it professionally proof-read. Instead I uploaded it to the internet as an Ebook
I am now hooked on writing, and will pursue it regardless of whether I ever enjoy commercial success.
That first attempt is called For Evil To Flourish, and although I admit it is amateurish, especially the first half, I would welcome the opinion of 'proper' writers on whether I exhibit any sign of developing an acceptable level of competence!
