Martin Roberts was born in Whitchurch in Shropshire in 1960.
He was educated at Packwood Haugh near Oswestry and then at Malvern College in Worcestershire. He read English and Drama at Westfield College, University of London and The Central School of Speech and Drama. He left in 1979 without completing his degree.
After leaving college he worked variously as a milkman, painter and decorator and a gardener before falling into the wine trade in 1981. After being made redundant in 1987 he travelled for a year in America, Australia and the Far East before returning to the UK in 1988.
He launched his own graphic design, marketing and communications company business in 1991 which he still owns and runs.
He married in 1989 but divorced in 2007. He has two teenage children and lives with his second wife, Maggie and her two children in South East London.
Writing (no sh*t), gardening (keeps me sane), skiing (the only reason that I work), human rights (mainly all wrongs)Interact
